Most hated Championship clubs

Never understood this yearning fans of ours have for us to be hated.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but outside of Yorkshire nobody gives a shit about us.
Come off it Oxford fans still hold a grudge from 40 years ago about something that happened in The Tetley Bitter Shield, or something.

Leeds don't even give a shit about us nevermind further afield.
That's because they still see their rivals as Man Utd and that the 2 are vying for Champions of Europe! Let's face it they make Wednesday fans seem sane.

I disagree.

Leeds actually have achievements to brag about.

Wednesday do not.

Roygbiv obviously cherry picks the most inflammatory posts because it makes for better reading.

It's not representative of an entire club's fanbase.

As someone has already quite rightly mentioned, Leeds don't even give a shit about us nevermind further afield.

They don’t particularly like us. Stronger feelings on the pigs as they have played them more often, more recently.

There are certain clubs who judging by their online fanbase dislike us more than we dislike them. Forest are an obvious one and weirdly Oldham always used to absolutely detest us.

I agree overall but we have upset a lot of club in the past decade such as West Ham and Coventry. Whenever we play those two teams next I imagine there will be an edge to it.

I hate Forest.

They seem to loving this over on Porktalk, at last something to cheer about.....and then they remember, embargo.....embargo.....embargo....:(

:D:D:D

COME ON YOU ROYALS!!!! I BLOODY LOVE READING FC.

Nah, it just doesn't sound right does it. I doubt those words have ever left anyone's mouth. Surely not even their own fans can possibly get excited about them.

I don't expect to beat Leeds or Millwall, but I suppose 3rd would've been nice.

On the other hand, as somebody who doesn't even like most of our own fans, I view supporters of other clubs as even more inferior beings whose opinions are worthless in any case, so there really isn't much currency in being either top or bottom.

It's true I went on holiday to Australia and the waiter found out I was from Sheffield asked who I supported
When I replied 'blades ' he gave me a severe kidney punch
Did they have 'steak and kidney punch' on the menu ?

I think it’s about how pesky the fans are or how much money the club have got?

We ain’t got a barrel of money, but we are pesky at times.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but outside of Yorkshire nobody gives a shit about us.

I went to work in Barrow in Furness for a few weeks about 5 years ago.
I was chatting to one of the managers in his his late 40’s.

We got chatting about football.
He said he’s originally from Ipswich and was an Ipswich Town fan, so I told him I supported Sheff Utd.

He smiled and said ‘we don’t like Sheff United”
I asked him why and he said it goes back to when we beat them in the playoff semi final with a last minute goal at their place.

Out of interest, why don't you like most of our fans?

I would agree some fit your classification, equally I enjoy this board because there are many bright, witty and intelligence contributors who I enjoy bantering with.

As with most walks of life if you put a large cross section of people together you will have some you like, some you dislike and some you barely even notice. I think it is a touch harsh to brand most of our fan base as thick and ignorant.

For the sake of balance I press the ignore button on the ones if find boorish. It's only 2 to date.

I'm sorry?
We upset West Ham?
We upset West Ham?
We upset Them?

Poor dears, must have been hard on them cheating their way to PL survival and being called out on it...

Nice to see us so high.

Great, and alsways nice to be disliked so much.

Brilliant we made the play offs, we will hammer Villa and Stoke in the play offs.

I think we really have to accept we can't overhaul DirtyLeeds and Millwaaaall, but we should make a sustained push for 3rd.

We need to be dirtier on the pitch, waste time more, dive feign cheat and maybe even the odd bite.

Off the pitch, the fans have to do their bit. Punching the lino at Pompey got us some headlines, so we need to set up a rota for a few more similarly nasty events. Someone could run on the pitch and severely kidney punch a few young ball boys. We need to let the tyres down on any disabled visitor's buses and chuck more mustard around in general.

KM and the Prince need to sort their difference out too and get with the plan. We should commence legal action against some of the 'nicer' clubs (Preston, Reading, Brentford, Ipswich) and sue them for our relegation from the Premier in 2007. It doesn't really matter is our legal case is full of holes, as it will certainly have the desired effect of moving us up the hated table.

Come on Blades, we can do it!

Clearly a correlation between being hated and having a lager than usual set of nasty bastards turning out for matches.

Leeds and Millwall would feature in the top 5 of hated clubs in all divisions because of this.

Most of us have witnessed some real pond life following the blades, particularly away over the years. Not something to be proud of really.

Just some pillick at he mirror thinking let me make up a story
Thought the same. Who were the fans surveyed?
Not anybody on here, not season ticket holders, not supporters clubs. Everybody on here are a member of one group or other but nobody’s said they were surveyed.

Made up crap.

That's just stupid. Not liking a team because they beat you? What is the point of a football club? Cheating, bad tackles, nasty fans, things said in interviews by managers or players, all these things make sense, but entering into a competition with others and then getting mardy because they don't let you win is just childish.

Glad to know it still stings.
