He gets some shit thrown his way by certain "delightful" sections of our public but I've found him a breath of fresh air.
He turned up at my granddaughter's school fundraiser and was brilliant with adults and kids both.
Joined in the fun with the kids, took time out to speak to loads of parents, grandparents etc and gave lots of time to the event.
I was very impressed, very unlike lots of other ceremonial mayor's I've previously encountered. Top bloke and testimony to what can be achieved given opportunity.

Most of the other mayors (‘Proper’ Sheffielders’) haven’t been able to string a sentence together, nor instill any kind of enthusiasm for the role or the City.

The one who Wilder stole the hat off was abysmal whenever I saw her and did nothing to shine a positive or progressive light on the city.

He was an elected councillor in Broomhill & Sharrowvale before and a very good one at that.
