I don't think he'll ever have the quality to play at Championship level. It's a shame as he works his backside off. To say he puts his body on the line would be an understatement. He's one of the most pugnacious players I've ever seen.I hope he confounds my expectations, and makes a good living for himself.

Bertie, it really is tongue in cheek.
People choose not to recognise this for whatever reason
sorry don't buy it.. if not then he should learn to use emoticons. i used to find his bombastic approach entertaining but it's a stuck record now like Phil alluded to ;)

You are not a Bladey Boybander, Phil.

The Bladey Boybanders don’t necessarily watch the Academy on a regular basis, or at all. They look out for results, hear names who are scoring goals or otherwise impressing and make what history proves to be hopelessly optimistic and erroneous assumptions. They are utterly beguiled when one of those players is selected for England Infants. Their limited intellect assumes that such players are on a Rubber Dinghy Rapids express pass to intergalactic stardom. Little Louis and Ben Mustavimback are but two recent examples of such distorted thinking. Now we move on to Jake Wright. Jake fucking Wright.

Those that do watch the lads play, not least yourself and another sensible bloke whose name I forget, tend to take a more rounded, realistic view. As you have made clear, you don’t spend every matchday wishing on a star that the youngsters will be in the first team next week, next year, or at all.

The fact is you can’t wish players better than they are, as I tried in vain to persuade the well-meaning but utterly deluded and now departed Woodward Fan for many years.

The trouble is that you don’t actually come with your own opinion, well not since you mocked the appointment of Wilder and purchase of Fleck, just your pompous, arrogant and childish name calling after events. Either that or a ‘ I trust in Wilder’ so passing on all responsibility for ‘your ‘ opinion on to him.
95% of fans don’t expect every kid to progress to the 1st team, for a start that’s impossible, but most want to see them succeed at Sheffield United, it gives a certain pride in the club. Most are names that we have followed for years and sometimes expectations are high, higher than what they should be, but successful youth players coming through our Academy are the way this club has survived the past few years.
Anyhow keep up your campaign I’m sure you know best

Took me a while to get you, but now I really like the way you sum summat up using the minimum of words.
Pinchy (for me anyway) is usually right, its just how you take his prose I guess.
Its entertaining to me but not everyone I suppose.
People who take him on end up lobbing abuse his way usually (not all may I add).

I relish debate, but I do not see why myself and others have to put up with his pompous knowall approach to everything he disagrees with.
It’s a forum meant to generate debate, which most on here carry out in an appropriate reasonable manner.
Some however take offence if you disagree with them and then resort to arrogant put downs which serve no place on a forum and I very much doubt would be repeated if said person were to debate in a face to face situation.

Just go and find a Pinchy quote that was proved so wrong as to be laughable (the one about Weir is particularly apt and memorable, PeterNdlovu081 but the Wilder and Fleck ones will do) and add it to every post you make. Every post you make then has that memory of superiority over someone who is absolutely correct in his opinions 100% of the time with no exceptions. Alternatively laugh and don't bother.

Don't fall into the Woodwardfan trap. IT IS NOT A DEBATE!

Oh yeah. Not for everyone. I understand that. U23 shirt is not "real Sheffield United". I get it....
But, Jake Wright Jnr, one of the players I've most enjoyed watching in (more or less) red & white stripes in recent years.
Edge of the seat stuff, for a variety of reasons, every week.....
