QPR losing their appeal against creative accounting will make them a bit more cautious. That said owners can do a share split and buy the shares they generate and the money counts as investment income. Think that's how Brighton did it with their sugar daddy. Sean Thornton might be able to confirm if that's how they did it.
Buying shares, if that's what a "share split" is, is how KMcC has been ploughing money into the blades for years.
If it all goes tits up only he loses as the shares will be valueless.
No creditors for the club to repay.

I looked on their fans forum for similar views to your Derby mate but no mention of making the same mistakes again. Vydra's medical to Leeds has apparently hit problems also, so they could delay the deal and hopefully we'll get back to Ipswich with a different bid, or better still, Ipswich agree to the existing one. I think signing Waghorn could be the difference between mid table and play-offs.
Well.....my colleague is of the sensible variety....lol and isn't a fan of Mel Morris and his cheque book approach....of course plenty love the spunken moneh approach on too many players until you stumble across a combunation that works.....before you go bust.

Has everyone seen the Lampard quote saying that daft figures have been flying around.
Maybe they aren't willing to gazzump our bid and go up to a daft £8million.
They didn't pay over the odds for Marriott they might not want to with Waghorn either which keeps us in the running.

Did he mention Nick Montgomery?

Not as often as you do...

If only he was never referred to by people who ascribe to him qualities and utility he never had, I wouldn't need to...

If he'd played anywhere but S2, the fans would pretend they can't remember him and hope that nobody mentioned him.

So if he had played in S6, the wisdom of our 'friends' from across the city would have been greater than than that of your fellow Blades? What a strange world you have created for yourself...

I saw him play hundreds of times. He was rubbish.

No they wouldn't - fans tend to remember 'stalwarts' of a club who give their all on the pitch - even when their skill levels aren't of the highest order

But you're just a pompous twat with your head so far up your own arse, you can't hear the rubbish you persistently spout :)

You have your standards. I have mine. I am very content.

It is not your opinion of his ability or otherwise as a player that concerns me; people always have different opinions about such things. It is your comment on S2 that puzzles me - if we are unique as a set of fans in our dim-wittedness, it follows that you think every other set of fans is more intelligent than us. Why would you want to be part of a group that you despise? I can't get my head round that.

Thread's about Waghorn. Not Monty. Neither are coming. I'm chilled.

I’m guessing that Waghorn’s agent is talking to all parties trying to get Ipswich to sell (because they don’t have to) and us and Derby negotiating the deal so it’ll play out Ipswich could be looking for a replacement before they sell, it could be the the king pin deal that starts off the transfer merry go round as imo I think it’s not been as busy up to now.

Same as there centre halves will have lavery in theirs... Cos at the moment we're only an injury n suspension away from that happening

Lavery who CW has so much confidence in he hasn't even given him a squad number....

CW says that he's had some encouragement in the transfer market but wouldn't say whether that's Waghorn, Woodburn or another player

Expects things to start ramping up this weekend and the over the next few days

Derby's bid for Waghorn depended on the sale of Vydra to L**ds but there are stories that the deal looks set to collapse

Don't know about you chaps...but I've gone from not being too bothered about us signing Waghorn, to actually feeling desperate for us to sign him. :(

The reason why? Well, it's looking like we're not going to sign anyone better doesn't it? I mean, the likes of Gallagher, who I was mildly excited about us signing, doesn't seem like it's going to happen. He would have been my first choice of all the strikers that we've been rumoured to be interested in, because I think he's got youth and height in his favour. Maybe that one is still a possibility, but I really don't know? All I know is, despite everything, it seems like the Waghorn deal is not dead yet - and he would give us another, good, natural goalscorer - which is handy!

I posted separately about the need for more creativity and pace in midfield. I think that's going to be critical tbh this coming season. I don't think the midfield is good enough - I'm sorry. I know that will be controversial to some. I like Fleck, I think he's excellent. I like Coutts too - but I'm not confident he's going to get fit and make the kind of contribution we know he can make - for a few months yet. I think Duffy is really good on the ball, but he's so hit and miss, even within the same game. And Evans...technically very good, but negative at times. Then you've got the young lad Lunny, who tbf to him, I think, he's come along leaps and bounds since he got here - but pitching him up against some of the midfield players we're facing at this level...it's men v boys. I think the lad has got it in him to be a very good player don't get me wrong - but he's not ready to "run the show" in midfield yet. And that's what we need. A player who can lift the whole team from midfield and make them tick like a Swiss watch.

So, I'm praying for Waghorn. Because I know he'll stick chances away if we create them. And I think we'll create them - I just think, with the midfield as it stands, we'll create less than most of the other teams we are playing.

How do you think our midfield will play against this lot.

I would say that I think we will create as many chances as last season provided we see Coutts get fit, stay fit and return to the player I love to see controlling games.
I thought against Inter Fleck was playing a more advanced role than his usual, and for me was excellent.
He created the goal with his positive play and a lovely little dink through ball. He’s also got goals in him.
I would like to see him in that role more often, and it will be interesting to see how him and Coutts line up again if/when Coutts is fit.
A midfield 3 of Coutts and Evans/Lunny holding with Fleck advanced would be interesting to try.

But I too wasn’t overly excited by waghorn. He had a great season last year and I worry it could be his “golden season” that average players tend to have one year and then live off. If he arrives I hope I am wrong.
I just want a striker to arrive that’s different to what we have. Raw Pace and power and the ability to not only cause defenders nightmares with his workrate and movement but also the skills to create something for himself occasionally.
Someone with a bit of youthful arrogance, a hidden gem. They are out there, every season one or two crop up.
I just think it’s about time we found one.

They will probably struggle against 7 players to be honest.
