Gone Elsewhere Martin Waghorn

This thread is 57% away from rivaling the Morsy thread. Disappointing. More bullshit required, people!

Would not want us to pay £8-10m on Waghorn, and apart from him, not sure that other players for that role have been mentioned, by CW anyway.
I don’t know any players off the top of my head, I just hope we don’t end up with a player that’s number 5 on the list.

Good player. The £5.5m supposedly offered is a fair price in the current market imo.

£8m is far too steep though and if Derby are prepared to offer that I’m happy for United to walk away. Ipswich have had their trousers down if they’ve managed to agree that.

I wouldn't even want us to spend 5m on the Wag, if he doesn't want to come the F*** him and move on.

If Waghorn does arrive at Utd, it won't be long before he's thumping the badge. My natural scepticism wouldn't be put off by this as we need someone capable of delivering close to at least 20 goals, but it would illustrate that money has never meant more to players than it does in today's game.

Seems that Derby will sign Marriot and try for Waghorn using money from selling their existing strike force, such as Nugent.

How ironic would it be if Derby get Marriot and Waghorn and we sign either Nugent or Jerome! I'd rather Marriot or Waghorn but I can see Jerome or Nugent doing a decent job for us, if we signed one of them.

Jerome and/or Nugent? Not really bothered about either if I'm honest. Nothing against older experienced players, but not for me, Sharp, Leon, Nugent and/or Jerome must have a combined age of what, 130?

All could be argued to be on their way down rather than up (excepting Leons form last season of course)

None of them would command a resale value by the time they'd done at the Lane

Yes , and did you notice that no name was ascribed to this budding galactico.

Unusual on here , is that .;)

I was referring to Adam Armstrong as in the previous post.

You asked who I’d go for... that was my answer game of opinions and all that.

Looks like Waghorn won't go to Derby until they sell Vydra. They've also just picked up Marriott.

I struggle to see derby getting promoted as their troubles are higher than the manager. I saw one tweet earlier which makes me inclined to believe that Ipswich will reject that as Evans is a little open to selling but only if how the transfer was paid was agreeable

I don't mind the sheep shaggers but if there's one manager I would love to see fuck it up, it's Frank Fucking Cockstain Lampard

I can just see a shot from sharp just about to cross the goal line when up pops Nugent to take the goal. Pure mayhem proceeds

Classic. Mocking a suggestion that no one as made.

You're so edgy

It’s only a matter of time. I see people coming...

Here’s one. David Brooks will have developed from a novice into a galactico before he kicks another ball.

So your pre-empting stupid opinions and countering them before they arrive?

I’m pretty sure we could match (or even better) that offer. Problem is, Derby are a more likely bet for promotion so I suspect Ipswich would reject our offer on the same terms. In any case, I suspect Derby can offer Waghorn better wages and the idea of teaming up with Lampard in his first stint as a manager is probably appealing. Sadly, I think we are going to have to move on.

Would be a real kick in the bollocks if we were to take one of Derby’s slow, ageing reserve strikers to help them with the funding of this move.

Really not a fan of these ex-pros getting jobs in the top divisions based, it would seem, on their reputations as players, and getting handed a wad of cash and other advantages into the bargain.

I actually don't mind Derby or Lampard, but a part of me would still like to see them both fail spectacularly on this one.
