Maddison is an attacking midfielder. Maybe a Number 10.

Waghorn is also no slouch. He's good when cutting in from the wings.

That 4-2 win in south Barnsley was especially excruciating. I'm still distraught from Duffy's bounce kill lowest point of the season for me.

Sounds like Derby are as far away with their bid as we (probably) are.
If we've offered 5m for waghorn it sounds like we are about 2million short... Surely we'd get Marriott for 6!?

No championship experience but 5 years younger... I’ll be honest i’ve Not actually seen anything other than fans linking us with a move for him.

Genuinely not sure what I’d do if I was wilder - but that why I’m not a manager .

Suspect we want to act quick though get in before debt sell vydra and have even more cash to throw around.

Can’t help feel there might be a left field new name come in - these targets must be st the very top end of what we can feasibly pay.

Think Gallagher is too rich and too much messing around if it’s not already been done.

Don’t think wells is an out and our striker but a good player all the same at this level.

I’d like Armstrong for a reasonable fee - right age, solid scoring record, good pace. Done ok at this level too for Barnsley.

Liked tufty’s interview - confidence that the squad will be much stronger for the start of this season. The players we’re looking at are all first team improvements after the good work we did to improve the squad depth last year.

I think your right on two plus DMcG.

Mgoldrick on a free seems like a no brainer to me as long as the wages are reasonable. Been solid in this league for years and different to what we have - good option to have imo.

Regardless of that, I think the fact we have put £5m on the table means Waghorn is the Number 1 target doesn’t it?

Yeah, i guess. Depends on what / if any bids were in place for hogan or Gallagher prior to this though.

Wonder if we’ll look on that direction eventually he’s mentioned his admiration of the way the lives of bornemouth and Brentford have gone about their business and the way the clubs are run.

He’s forward thinking and at the current prices over her it make sense even if we have to invest in the scouting infastructure

Clarke, Gallagher, Sharp, McGoldrick and Armstrong would be a superb strikeforce - and not even too expensive.

I guess in those 5 all 5 would feel like they should be starting either based on last season or having been signed. Then it’s down to wilder to keep the egos in check I suppose.

Billy and Leon shouldered a lot of work last season and both looked knackered at stages in the season. I feel like 5 you cover yourself for injuries and suspensions.
