Unfortunately I just don’t think we can afford to shop in the market for proven Championship strikers in their prime.

Its just scare tactics to show Hogan and/or Gallagher that we're 'looking' at other options. Wouldn't be surprised if one of those signs within a week.

I don't support Wendy, I've said this numerous times already
Sheffield United are a shit, backward football club who have barely had a very good player for 50 years, and won't buy one if he was given away free because his agent would want to negotiate the going rate in wages. When they occasionally stumble upon one from the academy he's sold before it's time to negotiate a grown ups contract

I don't have to be a Wendy to know that. Stop living in denial
You’re still here I see?

I think you’ll find it’s that you’re shit and backwards. I notice how you know refer to the Blades as ‘they’ - it appears your disguise has been unmasked.

Could be. I still believe that's why we expressed interest in Coady the other year.

Waghorn £10m is a joke, i'm glad we have pulled out of that one. If we have £5m to throw at a striker we should go abroad, I think we would get better value.

I’d rather us look abroad to a country where strikers can still be got on the cheap. How much did Leicester pay for Mahrez? £400k I think?

There are bargains to be had but we don’t have an effective international scouting structure, so we are locked into the rat-race of paying way over the odds for locally established players.

It’s a mistake imo.

Players like Flo, Wirmola, Marcelo, Dellas, Borbokis, Katchouro. They cost peanuts but not all were monkeys.

I think we’re missing a trick with this obsession on British players tbh.

Egan is Irish :)

Ok then I’ll ask again, as you ignored me the first time around.

What enjoyment do you get from supporting Sheffield United?

Not much but neither does anybody else if you're going to be honest
Football enjoyment comes along for the big clubs regularly and the medium sized clubs occasionally, unless of course you include Sheffield United in the medium sized clubs

I actually enjoy watching Sheffield United very much, if I didn’t I wouldn’t bother doing so. Granted they can be frustrating at times but just every football fan would tell you that.

I’d like to bet that if I put a poll on here asking whether people do or don’t get enjoyment from watching us most people, if not all, would say that they do.

Like I say, if you don’t get any enjoyment at all then what’s the point. Is it only Sheffield United that you are so extremely negative about or are you the same in other aspects of your life?

Seems a bid if £5m May be correct. Ipswich want £8-£10m so we will have to see what happens.

I enjoyed the Bouncing Day Massacre enormously. Didn’t you?

I guarantee if we had bid £10m there would be plenty on here justifying it.

Barnsley are filthy dingle scum
Sorry Barnsley

About 4 pages back I came to the conclusion that you're not pork or a dingle but , in fact , a Crookedspirite .

If that's the case and you want to talk about clubs who've spectacularly fucked up , where would you like me to start ?

Personally , I don't mind people coming on here demonstrating their total ignorance of anything relating to the game of football but they should at least have the decency to let us know where their allegiance lies , if only to give us all a laugh .

Pure enjoyment. Pride and enjoyment. It didn’t win any trophies but it went round Europe.

I rather enjoyed the Bouncing Day Massacre too.

According to the Birmingham Mail, were not exactly 'close' to meeting Ipswich's valuation of Waghorn. If he has indeed set his sights on coming to the lane (which I sincerely hope he has) then maybe it might put a bit of pressure on Ipswich to accept.

Either that, or if we're serious about brining him in, then we need to up our offer.

If Ipswich lose Waghorn (to anybody), you'd think they're relegation fodder this year. Only saving grace is, they have a good manager.

I think you may be right about that. I certainly think Hurst is a good manager. Track record a bit like Wilder's - grass roots stuff and lower league, working well on little money. Somehow though, I think Hurst will be looking to get some money through the door so he can re-shape the side and create his own team. And despite what he's saying in the press about not wanting Waghorn to go - I think he probably realises that the cash from the sale of Waghorn might be necessary if he is to have available funds to bring a few of his own players in.

I think Brentford are dicing with relegation before the season starts - they've lost some good players over the last 18 months and I can see them struggling this season as well.

I'm now back to thinking we should go all in on Gallagher. If the likes of Waghorn are carrying these massive prices then surely a younger player who may appreciate in value is more attractive given you could argue it's a 50/50 as to who will contribute most this season.

Even if you aren't a Wednesday supporter, you definitely are not a Sheffield United Supporter.
Clue is in the name... SUPPORT - something you look like you have never done.

At best you may be somebody who 'follows what's going on at Sheffield United'

You’ll be met with Fire and Fury for that!

Cap-doffers ❤️ Brentford.
