No they didn't. Southampton took two seasons to get back to the Championship after relegation in 2008-09.

But that's besides the point. We're on about clubs that have only been relegated to the third tier once and made an immediate return.

The only ones I'm aware of off the top of my head are Leicester and Manchester City.

Come on you know why Southampton didn’t get straight back they had a -10 start and still finished 7th and then walked it the following year. I class that as straight back,

Newcastle, or did they take 2 seasons?

What's your excuse for the 7 seasons in Division 3 after they were relegated in 1952-53?

Even without the ten point deduction you can't say for sure whether they would have been promoted because they would have only finished 5th.

£ 1million loan fee plus all of his £ 30 K (plus) wages per week = £ 2.5 million for the year, if he doesn't score some goals ? What does that make Sharpy worth.
Is it clear that Norwich are paying a fee and covering his wages? I wouldn’t have thought anyone would do that. I heard he’s on a lot more than £30k p/w too. I would have thought Wendy would be lucky to get the fee to cover some of his wages whilst Norwich cover some of his wages. I’d be very surprised if Wendy have any sort of surplus from the deal, more of a means of reducing costs.
(I’m not criticising your comment btw, just speculating against them)
You’re right re the comparative value of our strike force too.

Can anyone tell me if any other comparably sized clubs have recently spent anything like 6 seasons in the 3rd division or lower?

It's only football, it's not as though your family have been turfed out of their home and have no money to buy food

Is anyone starting to wonder what wilders wobble was really about, because surely these are not the assurances he asked for.
