Things I'd like to see abolished next season...

Substitutions when theres 3 seconds left of added time.If theres say less than 2 minutes then hard luck no subs even if someone has broken a leg.
Yellow cards for taking shirts off after scoring.Make it compulsory for female players to do this though.
Book players for running up to opposition fans when scoring.
Stop the 50 mile round trip round the away end after games whilst keeping opposition fans in for 4 hours anyway.
Ban the miserable bastard 4 seats to my left from sitting in the same stand as me.Although his wife can stay.

Losing by 1 goal to an absolute pearler of a goal! Wonder how many teams goal of the season was at the lane last season!

One thing I'm glad has been abolished:

Goal music.

Together we must be vigilant to ensure it stays that way. The rise of Fascism in the 20th century has shown us that evil prevails when good people do nothing.

Don't let your children be the victims of shit music played after goals and fucking up the atmosphere in typical modern football fashion.

Lest We Forget.

got to say being a traditionalist I utterly abhore the slack new kick offs , where they kick it backwards, its so negative
and second and third phase on offside , which ever twat tought that up deserves a good kicking
its carte blanche to fudge any issue, gone from a grey area to murky black
and extra subs in extra time,,,, be like american football soon 26 on the bench and changes at every VAR break

be buckets of Gatorade pitchside white make up under their eyes next
lets go back to 2 subs , stop teams like chelsea loaning out their spare 40 players

I'd like to see booing abolished and all irritating whinging whiners banished to Hillsborough

Linesman who look to the ref before deciding whether or not to raise their flag for offside. Eff me, I thought that was their job, what they were there for.

...and did I hear right today during the England match? I’m sure the commentator said something along the lines of they weren’t allowed to.

People getting het up about corners despite incontrovertible evidence that they are rarely productive for any team.

'I linger and gawp/When the Council dig a big hole/I always cheers for a corner/I don't know why, they never lead to a goal.'

Also includes a bonus reference to Bristol City midfielder Gerry Gow.

Think the tight ones are supposed to be left to VAR so that play can continue in the event that it's on, which is fair enough imo, but Sterling was about 2 yards offside from what I remember, not exactly close.

Right, not sure I agree with VAR being used for that.

My main point though was linesman at the Lane, looking at the ref to see whether to raise their flag or not. It happens and for me that’s surely the linesman’s job, to decide whether it’s offside or not ?

Minutes silences
"It is with sadness...." PA & scoreboard announcements
Clapping in the 27th minute
& other Death Gazette activities
It's Football FFS...
Spot on! In many ways this new trend of clapping to certain points detracts from other poignant and respectful moments such as the game nearest remembrance Sunday. Within a fan base of 45,000 ish its a sad fact of life people will be dying quite often. By all means pay respects altogether as Blades at end of season but it seems to be every other game we are clapping for some poor soul.

I always find the clapping at the age he or she died at a bit iffy anyway. If it was my relative I don't think I'd particularly want to be reminded in clap form that my son/daughter/brother/sister etc died tragically young.

It's like if they had a minutes applause on the 7th minute because I was run down by the number 7 bus.

I get it, because it's nice to be remembered in a place you loved, but still.

West Scam.
The ban on drinking ale in the stands. Myself and lad (esteemed Forgeblade) drank some good beer (not available on the kop) during the Northampton beam back and had a top time! They're doing it in Russia too without any signs of grief!

People (fans?) who turn up pissed and shout abuse at just about anybody (as long as they are heard it's ok), don't watch the game, leave early at HT for a pint, return late, continue to abuse anybody and everybody - and have brought their 6 / 7 year old child with them. (who looks scared as hell at dad's behaviour). I can only imagine what their future may hold.

We have some beer but don't do this and I wouldn't condone it. I don't usually drink in the ground (over priced crap on the kop) but it would be nice to be able to have a beer now and again whilst watching the game, especially at those warm and sunny early and late season games. I'm very aware of why it's banned - usual tosser minority spoiling it for everyone else!

A piss bucket on the south stand Gangway C row LL for the man two seats to my right so he doesn't have to get up to piss every 4minutes

Me needing to empty my colon 10 minutes after kick off.

Major tournaments can change the way the game is played. As things have developed in this World Cup so far, it looks as if the smart coaches will be putting great emphasis on attacking and defending corners and free-kicks. JOC to have an even more important role this season?

If VAR is adopted and adopted rigourously, expect to see corners become revitalised as they won't allowed to grapple and pull shirts. It might see the return of proper centre halves as well, with added extra bonus of away teams being less willing to 'park the bus' they'll want to limit the amount of corners they defend

Can I also abolish the current yellow and red card system. It's insane.

You can get sent off for getting 2 yellows for over elaborate celebrations, but an over elaborate celebration is categorised the same as virtually maiming someone or perstently trying to con the ref into giving a penalty away.

Also, what the hell is the point in booking a player who's leaving the pitch e.g. James Maddison against us last season, he doesn't care. It's the same with keepers that time waste. That's when a sin bin for 15 minutes would sharpen the mind, what keeper is going to time waste if he could get sin binned?

One who knows there's only 30 seconds left?

Twats who put their mobile phone torchlight on, get to a fucking concert of some ilk.

The fixture planners who always put the longest away trips on a midweek night, just fuck off.

Along with anyone who says 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline because if the opposition score they'll get the momentum. It's objectively better than 1-0 or 0-0 or being fucking 2-0 down.
