I agree with the premise behind that. And it may be that Brooks comes to nothing more than a middling top 2 division professional. But I'll be mightily surprised if we create a better potential attacking player in the next 5-10 years and we may have missed out on something special
No need to apologiseSorry to be a pedant, but he was released by Man City.
In that case, as you obviously know what is happening, why don’t you just say who, what and where? .............thought not!
Wonder if Morgan was still here he could've stopped this...
If this is true. I'd be appalled and shocked by United's ambition to keep key players. Brooks played a bit part.. fleck is integral to how we play.Fleck is going to Huddersfield . Nailed on .

If this happened. I'd loose a lot of interest next season. And I highly doubt we'd be pushing top 6.If that's true we'd better fucking sign some people before that gets announced or there'll be riots.

So in your mind there is no way Brooks could be good enough for our first team this year? Despite the fact that a PL team just paid £10m plus for him? Are you genuinely saying Callum Sample has shown as much tangible ability in the 1st team as David Brooks? What is this fascination with " potential " ? I don't want potentially better in our first team I want tangibly better than we have . Callum Semple is potentially a better player than JOC shall we bin JOC and stick Semple in ? Would that satisfy your cravings for " potential " .

Let's hope so. We all know what United's like...It’s not true, it’s another wind up

I go to the games to see us win and be entertained. Brooks offered a chance of something I haven't seen before. He might not come to anything but to compare him to somebody who hasn't even played yet is just picking and choosing points to suit your position.
We're better off without them anyway.
You directly compared what I'd said about Brooks by asking if we should replace JOC with Semple. I didn't even mention Semple till you brought him up.Bournemouth have just paid 10 million pounds for a player who'll be lucky to get a start next season. A couple of cameos from the bench and maybe a start in some meaningless cup match . Or are you saying he'll be the first name on their team sheet every Saturday in the PL . They have signed what you correctly summarise as ' potential ' .
As for Brooks and our first team this year . Well it's something of a moot point as he's no longer with us but I'll indulge you . Brooks struggled to hold down a place in our first team last season for a number of different reasons . Firstly where would you play him ? Whats his position ? Who would he have replaced ? Duffy ? Clarke ? Sharp ? Secondly , as Brooks himself failed to win a regular start for us last season are you suggesting we should build our team around him just so we can see if he realises the potential he has ? Really ?
Furthermore, i haven't compared Semple to Brooks, you have . Once again though even though comparing a forward/attacking midfielder with a defender is a little bit disingenuous ill indulge you once again . Semple at 17 was already attracting rave reviews AND regular starts at U21 level . Thats far more than Brooks did at the same age . So I'll ask you again, with the potential Semple has would you start him above JOC this season ? If not why not ? Semple has all the potential In the world so why not start him ?
You claim I'm the one picking and choosing points to suit my position, I'm not the one basing rarely seen potential on our ability to win matches and entertain . I quite liked watching us smash league 1 wide open. I also quite liked seeing us bloody the noses of a lot of teams last season in the championship too . I did all that with no David Brooks too .
You directly compared what I'd said about Brooks by asking if we should replace JOC with Semple. I didn't even mention Semple till you brought him up.
Brooks had glandular fever and still managed to contribute to a top half team. Its all speculation like you said but I'd be extremely confident that he would have made a much more meaningful contribution this year. I never at any point said we should build the team around him from August. Just that in my opinion I think he could have done something special next year.
I loved the league 1 promotion season. Doesn't mean we can't improve the squad.
Evwryone is welcome to their opinion. Yours is he was overrated and we are well rid of him. Mine is that he could have done something special for United.
And thank you for indulging me. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside![]()
This 'once a Blade' stuff is incredibly hollow and tiresome from these players as they fuck off to the likes of Bournemouth.
Fuck me what a shit week
Well he can hardly say the attraction was the huge passionate crowds or fantastic stadium, could he?Eddie Howe as a main attraction... Wow.

I think it's probably one of the more stable clubs with regards to manager sackings in the premier league.Bit of a risk to go somewhere for the manager in the Premier League innit?
Bad start for Bournemouth and he'll be playing for Pardew/Allardyce/Moyes
Ah well, when the big clubs come-a-knocking, as some wise old sage once said....
Yes, so? Your point is?To be fair, it's been said, rather unoriginally, many times, by many less wise, since it was first uttered.
