Sad , as we're too far down the pyramide there's little change . Most talents in the championship are hoovered away, and many will enjoy very littler playtime, hope it's real sillymoney and a big sell on.

However much Bournemouth are paying us. They simply aren’t the right club. If Brooks had another half decent season with us, he’d be able to have his pick of clubs. It’s quite feasible that we could be playing Bournemouth the season after next.

I do think spurs might have something to say about this before it ends either way.
I’d prefer it to be Liverpool tbh. Levy is very good at negotiation, he’ll offer £12.5m.

The problem is getting the balance between holding out for more money and leaving it too late to spend it effectively. Hanging on for an extra million or so until the last week of the transfer window isn’t a good idea from a footballing perspective.

True, and it does depend on what brooks wants, Bournemouth will offer him more first team chance than spurs and Liverpool. But we all know money talks.

Which may point for Brooks wanting to go for the money. But it can't be his fault, he's under contract...

Good money for a lazy non tackling non heading piss weak show pony.

Probably the most surprising thing in this window for me will be if we keep him.

I fully expect him to leave even if this is BS. It doesn’t matter how big we think we are, Ricky has summed up my thoughts - it is fucking Bournemouth - Wolves had it with Afobe a couple of seasons back, same thoughts with their fans.

Cash rich club so double your money, 5 year deal, any serious injury and your still ok for life, nice place to live, I think he’ll get game time, so if he was to go to a club, they are the right one for him IMO.

With the price, I’m not so sure they are stealing him for £12m - only if that is cash plus a sign on fee and not ‘a deal worth £12m’. He’s had 3 good performances - Pigs, Wolves & Leeds and not much else. The Maddison lad has played regularly for Norwich in the Championship, is only a year older, a striker so more expensive and not an international because he is English. If Brooks were English the international tag would be taken off.

This. With Brooks you're buying potential. He's only started a handful of games in his life.

Josh Murphy only went for £10 million. He's proved himself at Championship level. Brooks hasn't.

Based on last season's performances (I mean actual game changing performances) I think upwards of 10 Mill is a great deal.
Yes he might be the next Gareth Bale, but equally, he may not.
Take the money with a handsome sell-on clause or risk getting next to nowt?
Take the money and run I say.

Irrespective of someone else bidding. You hold on for the best price. He's an asset worth holding onto. Not allowing some paltry club to have your pants down to the ankles.

Is this just Star Sport bollocks or is this actually happening?

I think Brooks is quality and in a couple of years he will be a top championship / premiership player. But I really dont think he is as good as everyone makes him out to be. Moments of brilliance but physically immature and easily bullied off the ball. It would be great if someone paid us 20+ million for him but right now (without trying to be biased) I think 15 million would be a good deal.

Take the money and run o_O.

I’ll save this post for the next World Cup I think.

I’m not sure they will. Both Spurs and Liverpool have brought a lot of young players through recently. Better coaches, better facilities and you won’t be in a relegation fight; you might be on the bench for a champions league game or two though.

FFS, this is a football fees expert wet pants/sandy vagina thread, stop being sensible.

Wilder is happy with the deal. Getting a chunk of the fee but doesn't know exactly how much but he sanctioned the deal.

Can’t come to terms with Bournemouth being a bigger club than us. FFS!

This is why we need to get back to the Prem. otherwise we will continue to be preyed upon for our best players and management. There’s no guarantee it wouldn’t happen in the Prem of course, but at least we’d have more financial clout to resist.

Would Brooks be interested in a club like Bournemouth if we were in the Prem and them in the Championship? It’s all about playing in the Prem. Thats why we must move heaven and earth to get there.

Once again we look like we are going to sell our best young players in order to fund the running of the club! Very frustrating!
