This better not be true.

Bournemouth. Fucking Bournemouth.

And £12m? This early in the summer? Fuck me.

This would be absolutely scandalous.

We better have Gallagher, Hogan & Maddison lined up with the extra money and existing budget if Brooks is off for that amount.

Fkin joke if true. Its probably not even £12m up front. Nothing changes Blades undervaluing players again. Maddison played 42 games in the championship and gets sold for twice as much. £12m isn't silly money fans let down again. Great start to the season Sheffield United not.

I wonder if we might get a player from them on loan as part of the deal. Sure we've shown interest in that Lys Mousset, correct me if I'm wrong. Or even Lewis Grabban?

£15m is the minimum we should take, and that money should be up front.

He is on a long term contract and WILL ONLY INCREASE IN VALUE. He hasn't even fully developed physically yet FFS.

Watching him play and develop was probably the thing to most look forward to next season so if that's ripped away from us for the sake of petty cash it will be hugely demoralising and frustratingly typical of this club.
We didn't see much of him last season, yet deep down I think we knew that it was as good as it was going to get. It's too much to ask to see someone like him start more than 10 games for us isn't it?

We can bring in whoever we want with the money, we aren't going to get anyone like Brooks.

So about 30 more than DB then ??

Seriously, the moment ANY PL club came in with an 8 figure offer, to treble (+) his wage, it was as good as done. Law of the jungle. If Ramsdale has had good things to say about the South Coast, then that may have also turned his eye.

And I would suggest that Wilder would have generally positive things to say about Howe as well. And why wouldn’t he ?

Let’s see. But it was always gonna be this way realistically. What is a bit of a dissappontment is if we have buckled at the opening gambit and not “demanded” a bit more (£15m?) of a fee to further strengthen CWs arm this window.

Bournemouth pick up a bargain then.

As soon as he switched to that Agent we should have seen this coming.

Quick point of principle.

There is precisely nothing to guarantee or even suggest at this stage that his value in the transfer market will ONLY increase.

Far too much water to go under the bridge before that could possibly be determined.

Suggestions to the contrary are pointless, futile and down right inaccurate !

Let's not crucify the club just yet. It's the Daily fkin Star after all.

The problem was Dronnie they apparently offered £10m last November before he got injured if the press is to be believed so I'm sure the PR people at the Lane will be desperate to make this point. Maybe the decision to change agents influenced this but we are pathetic when it comes to holding out for the right amount. Any other club would have waited for a bidding war bearing in mind the likes of Spurs and Liverpool were supposedly interested. All this seems to indicate, if accurate, is that we don't have the money to meet CW's expectations so we've had to sell an asset once again.

Tadic went for £10 million today and Flint for £7 million, so who knows what's happening with transfer fees.

Ah, that's a real shame. It's so rare that this club is blessed with a player of his talents. As with Walker, it just would have been nice to have watched him develop with us for one more year. Always feel like we sell our stars too soon. £12m for Brooks is far too low. I genuinely believe somewhere around the £18m mark would have reflected market rates more fairly. Assume Wilder has been pushed into this.

Beleave me, I'm disappointed. Would have liked to have seen him this season to see if he has kicked on further. But we might need the money to bring other players in to strengthen the team all over the pitch. I trust Wilder with this football club.

This time last year we were loaning him to Chesterfield for the season ,who is this seasons Brookes ?

Interesting to hear Wilders take on it. It's obviously not silly money at £12m so you have to hope the money is going to him for transfers and he's ok with it.
