No argument on our style, but I was pointing out, that were much more needing of these positions than in midfield, don't you think??

Think we need them all. CW said he wants in 4 quality additions - hopefully 2 strikers, a centre half and a midfielder - then we're all happy!
 
Naturally, apart from Wilder and one or two other members of staff, no one will know exactly how much the transfer budget amounts to.
So it's not that surprising that Wilder has to consider loans as a means of supplementing his incoming wish list. Ideally I imagine that actually buying players would be any club's preference, but given the strictures that surround such a relatively small transfer budget Wilder has to wheel and deal the best he can.

Like most of us, I've seen a variety of names bandied about as potential targets, most of whom are unrealistic if you add in wages, so it's down to the extent of Wilder and Knill's savvy approach to who we can convince to join the Blades. Certainly it's far from ideal, and as much as I approve of a financial approach that doesn't gamble with the present and future of this club, I would also welcome us being able to compete for players that currently we seem incapable of bringing to United. Maybe, if we continue on this upward curve, we'll eventually see the Blades attempt to bring in players that, for the moment, are outside of our reach.

Not necessarily.

Transfer listing a player you've just signed, with no replacement ready probably isn't sensible.

More likely (if he is being replaced) a new signing would push him out, probably on loan.

Okay, I think he will stay as CW wants him to stay he and fight for his place and hopefully he does well.

Listening to his interviews I don’t see how you could have any other opinion?. He says multiple times the lads that are available he’s circulated the names. The others he hasn’t circulated as he wants them to stay?
 
Seems unlikely Palmer will go anywhere but Derby. Rumoured to be discussing a permanent deal as well as a loan.
 
All gone quiet on Palmer going anywhere - and with Derby signing Mason Mount, surely that option is now gone?

Would be a good Brooks replacement.
 
I can only think of the stumbling block between Palmer and Derby would be first team football? He spent a lot of time on the bench last season. Would he be a starter over Duffy or the Coutts/Fleck/Evans or Lundstram set-up?
 
Palmer, Maddison and Woodburn should be our targets for this position.

Would probably prefer Maddison as he'd be permanent.

I wasn't though was I. I pointed out that Newcastle were linked. Which you interpreted incredibly bizarrely.

I thought he'd end up in the Championship. Obviously Chelsea want to send him somewhere where he'll definitely play.

He won’t even play there. He is a central attacking midfielder I don’t see him getting ahead of there boy Dack.

Both can play wide or central. They wouldn't sign someone like him then not play him.
