Am I right in thinking that the transfer window closed on the 9th August this summer?

If so, with the World Cup ending on the 15th July, it would seem like a very short actual window to do business.

Pre-season starts before the end of the World Cup. It would strike me as more difficult to get any business done before then given that most top-flight players are away, one way or another.

Depends on who they sell to, eg China, MLS etc

Given the Board squabbling and lateness in agreeing a budget, we're probably a little behind in our planning compared to the teams whose fates weren't decided late on. Transfer deadline day this year will probably be the busiest ever in this country.

Loans are going to be a huge issue as premier league teams can let their kids go abroad until the end of August.

I'm sure they will, but there's only so much you can do without knowing your budget. He's had more time than the play-off teams though, which is a plus.

the purslow interview on sky sports really annoyed me. because clubs just moaning for the sake of the it as liverpool & Southampton moaned few years ago. weve got Coutinho / Van djik they are refusing to play to not jeopardise a transfer. its ridiculous that seasons started & issue wont be resolved until 5th premier league game when if we knew they would play in every game. so they make sure deadline is day before season starts.

now this deadline is unfair that we get 3 weeks less business than our European rivals & can lose players without getting arrivals. if i was premier league id be telling well what on earth do you bloody want
