Outgoing? LEON CLARKE

What mistake could he have made? He doesn’t need the money and he wanted to stay with us. As I said, he could’ve only sulked if he wanted to go, in the end he didn’t. Villa are also in the same league as us next season, if they went up only then could it have possibly been a mistake.
Did Iniesta need the money ?
Alexis Sanchez ?

Totally missing the point.

But if you prefer to believe LC adores the Blades, good on yer !

Iniesta stayed to win trophies, didn’t need to move, Sanchez moved to go and win trophies, both didn’t need the money. Both did what was right for their careers at the respective times. Leon did what he thought was right for his career at the time, he was right because he wouldn’t have bettered himself but he would have more money, something he doesn’t need, Hull certainly won’t be bettering his career whatever silly fees get banded about. So what point am I missing then?

...and Leon does adore the Blades but he wouldn’t put that first before a move, he’d move if it bettered his career, I hope you get this.

What it boils down to is you think Clarke regrets his move, I don’t and I’m pretty sure if you ask Leon he’ll be honest and give you the same answer as me.

I agree to not carry your slating of Clarke off. ;)

Thanks for letting me know what it boils down to.

Much appreciated :)

"There has been no bid for Clarke from Hull!"
"Fact!!"

The old guy over the road has just told me, so it must be true!

If you say it’s fact, it must be true!

Well im just goin on what everybody should be able to see on News24, ive been on night's so god knows how long it's been on theer for.

Is it a load of bollocks, it just says Leon the lion Hull for £5,000.000.

5m is not much for a proven Championship goalscorer.
Chris W got Leon a new contract in Jan , Leon will not want to go to Hull as he thinks Chris W is best Manager he's ever had & SUFC best ever club. Chris W will not want to sell him. So hard luck Mr Adkins !

Leon and Billy are both at the age where their legs could go at any time. Some on here suspected we were starting to see it already last season.

If we go into next season as we are with no one else decent there's an incredible risk one or more of them will fade and we won't be able to fix it until the JTW and by then we are more than half way through the season so it may be too late to fix.

If we get a decent offer for either we should take it IMO.
Our medical team will know exactly how their legs are and the club will act accordingly.

Amazing this medical science.

There will be no speculation that "their legs could go at any time" so let's get rid.

Stop it! Just stop it. This is S2.

hull fc rugby arent called kingston
hull KR , put the kingston as an addition
hull infimary has no mention of kingston
and it is no where near Jamaica

Neil Shipperley was about about the same age as Billy and Leon, 33, in our promotion to the premiership season and scored about 11 goals and made a huge difference that season. He never scored a single league goal after that season. Only in S2.

Shipperley was only 30 when we signed him. I suspect his rapid decline after that season was more to do with his gut than his legs.

Whereas Kevin Davies and Kevin Phillips kept in knocking em in til they were almost pensioners.

So what's your point?

Every aspect of players fitness is closely monitored these days.

The medical staff will know exactly what their bodies have left to give.

We don't.

My point is purely statistical. I'm sure the staff do the best they can but the statistics for older players are clear.

Just like a car, unless there are sentimental or loyalty reasons its all about buying and selling at right time for the right price.

If I hold on to my car until the bitter end its worth nowt and to then have to wait until the JTW to buy another might be too painful.

I know where you're coming from but age isn't the sole determining factor.

A car/player that is well looked after will stay in better shape and run much longer than one that is not.

Our medical team will have all the fitness/medical stats and recent service histories of all our players.

They will know what they can expect from them next season, we can only guess.

That article is 5yrs old. Medical science has moved on a long way in football since then and we do know that Wilder embraces the technological approach.

We will not sell players we know to be fit just in case they break down.

We may sell them for other reasons but not purely because of their ages.

its newcastle upon tyne but no one calls them tyne united
its also just one area of hull kingston ,
Only in the same way that the original village/town of Sheffield is only one area of Sheffield. The point is their city has a name which sounds good and they have decided to refer to it by the name of the river, which doesn't sound very good. I have no idea why.
