They always get pigs place spelling right .......

S...H...I...T...H....O...L...E

I thought we went over this and Bramall is actually a misspelling of Bramhall.

It should actually be Bramhall Lane because the land around it was owned by the Bramhall family.

So the Star is being historically correct. So well done Sheffield Star and booooo to all the pedants slagging it off
it’s Bramall now.. no argument this dog ate my homework stuff won’t wash

I do have some sympathy for the reporter. I was very briefly a reporter for a local newspaper in Derbyshire. To the delight of an elderly couple, I interviewed them on their wedding anniversary. Unfortunately my basic maths let me down and I said that they had been married for 40 years not 50, ruining the article for the wife who had planned to have it framed :(

People usually describe the length of their marriage by the number of years they've been married, not by the year they got married. You sure you "calculated" it wrong? Seems a bit odd to me. Anyhow, it's humble of you to admit it, but I can well understand why they were upset about it. No wonder you were "briefly" a reporter for a local newspaper. Is that when you turned your journalistic skills to this messageboard instead then?;)

Yes, the Matlock Mercury's loss is this forum's gain :)

Oh right, yes. The Matlock Mercury. Now I know what you mean. My gran and grandad once kicked the shit out of one their reporters for getting their name wrong, or something, in an article. He didn't last long. Went off to the Worksop Bugle after that I think.;)

It wasn't me :). Is that true about getting your gran and granddad's name wrong!?

"granddad's" - You're Welsh aren't you? Go on! Admit it! ;)

No mate. Most things I post on here aren't true. I am a compulsive liar and this is my alter ego speaking. The next bit is true though.

I have a cousin, now deceased, who was the author of many books. In his autobiography he wrote of his childhood memories at my Grandmother's house, when my father was himself a boy. The book he wrote was an interesting insight into his life and into the childhood of my own father. However, my father was not best pleased at some small factual inaccuracies, which seemed to ruin the whole book for him.

I'm not Welsh, I guess it's because of those types of inaccuracies that I only had a brief career as a journalist!
