"The Star understands face to face discussions between the pair have been tentatively scheduled for next week, although the timing could change depending upon events elsewhere."

By gum, that has a real sense of urgency about it.

Oh, and .....

What events elsewhere?

The. summat is 'expected to take place on neutral territory'

Talk about over dramatising things. In other words a London hotel because it's just easier for all concerned.

Needs sorting though and sharpish, wherever the fuck they sit down.

They'd meet in the Copthorne except its embarrassing that Sean Dyche has been sat there for six months waiting for them.

Turkmenistan or Mongolia is my bet. They're both neutral.

"Wilder has decided to buy them both out based on the money he will receive from Sunderland, Arsenal and West Brom for the 5 year contracts he signed with them, all of whom have been informed by Wilder that they will pay him off after 2 games of the 2018/19 season and he will then resume his duties at the lane with a wedge of cash in the back pocket"

That's about the size of it I reckon, they think they're in an episode of Spooks or something. Just get it fucking sorted one way or another.

Not sure what the 'neutral terrority' stuff is about but it's certainly not Switzerland.

Let's hope they can sort this state out and be united again.

Interestingly it seems the Star has caught on that McCabe started this all off by signalling his intention to buy the Prince out. As some of us said initially, rather than the other way around.

Let's see who on here rewrites history.

I've heard they will be meeting on the 38th parallel. Gifts of the finest Andrex and a housebrick will be exchanged before they coyly hold hands and jump backwards and forwards into their appointed territories.

Relaxed meetings wil be held in full view of the assembled world press and a final communique will be issued confirming Wilder will still be the manager next season with £15 million to spend on another push for the Premier League.

Less work involved in making a list of who doesn't

I trust this isn't another 'stalling tactic', one designed to hint to CW that it'll be sorted.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that both parties (owners) would deliberately set out to have meaningless talks but in ownership/custody battles - both business and personal - such matters are rarely sorted out quickly. Seems like a 0-0 draw to me and CW is likely to be not much further forward after the meeting.

The best that can be hoped for I sense is an agreement on an interim way forward (plans/budget) in order to keep the manager 'happier (or should that be 'more appy than he was?'). Me thinks CW would see through that and that he will still have strong concerns. Whether it is enough to keep him here in the short term I'll consult Mystic Meg.

McCabe was quoted on here as saying it should be sorted Ina couple of weeks. Maybe it's sign on the dotted line time?

Sincerely hope so. CW is the best hope we have had in years. Be just like us to screw it up. We're not part of a new footballing soap opera...are we? I know pantomimes are filmed at another ground in Sheffield...
