IF this is true then he's a bit of a hypocrite, he says he's ambitious and wants to go forward yet he might be prepared to go down a division to L1. I can see it from his point of view about the board but at the end of the day there is no guarantee it will work out at Sunderland the grass isn't always greener, they're new owners aren't they so no one knows what they're going to be like from the beginning. Apparently he's good friends with the potential new owner but again that still doesn't mean to say everything will run smooth between manager and board level.
If he hasn't got the mental strength to tough it out here for a while when enduring a bit of adversity then maybe we're better off without him. At a medium to big sized football club like ours things will never be rosy all of the time, you go through ups and downs as it's part and parcel of football and life in general.
