Surely with confirmation of the league we are playing in next season the two owners will start negotiating soon? I get that they were holding off until our status was confirmed as it would affect the valuation of the club.

I think even just a statement of negotiations have started would set some peoples minds at rest for the next few weeks.

I've got a horrible feeling Wilder will not be here by the 1st of July. I really hope i'm wrong but how typical would it be for us to throw away our most prized asset when we need it most.

Wilder deserves more from the owners after the last 2 seasons he has given to the club

Glad we've started a thread on this, it might have slipped under the radar.

Agree with all of that. Sadly I think you may be right about our hero...heard a few worrying rumours

With nothing apparently happening I've checked Nostradamus and found this :-

"There will soon be talk of a treacherous man, who rules a short time,
quickly raised from low to high estate.
He will suddenly turn disloyal and volatile.
This man will govern Verona."

Verona is old French for "Bramall Lane" and it means that the Prince is actually Paul Woolhouse who will take over and run out of money again, fairly quickly"

That sounds to me like Silvio Berlosconi is buying the Blades...

Get in... not only will be owned by a Billionaire but we'll get Bunga Bunga parties in the Platinum Suite

Errr,

"
The prince who has little pity of mercy
will come through death to change (and become) very knowledgeable.
The kingdom will be attended with great tranquillity,
when the great one will soon be fleeced."

Yorkshire Post reported in 2002 that he was living in Turkey!

A way forward for next season without the Ownership Wrangle being resolved:-

1) Both owners agree to put the same amount into the club as they did last season
2) Confirm to Chris Wilder that his wages budget for next season is £x M based on the amount they put in (probably similar to this season).
3) Allow Wilder to spend any money he brings in through sales (e.g. Brooks) on new players (wages and/or transfer fees)

Wilder would know exactly where he stands and that he has scope to "wheel and deal" and improve the squad.
The joint owners have another year in which to sort out who owns the club going forward.
Any funding they put in for this season could simply be included in the final deal, so that neither owner loses out.

Would that keep everybody happy? Any flaws in the plan?

McCabe said at the shareholders meeting that a budget for next season had already been set and agreed between the two owners.....so points 1 and 2 are already agreed, pending any changes in ownership.
I can only assume that the budget is set for still spending in pool B and not pool A where Wilder now wishes to do his shopping in.

Someone pissed in pool A?

What did McCabe actually say about the budget for next season at the Shareholders meeting?
Most people, including Chris Wilder, seem to be saying that he doesn't know what his budget for next season will be.
If it's already been agreed between the two owners, why is he still publically questioning what's going on?

Someone asked the question at the meeting, if the owners are in litigation will it affect the summer budget for Wilder and will it stop our progress, or something along those lines. McCabe stood up and said that a budget had already been agreed between the two owners and this would be available for Chris to spend.
I can only assume from that, that although a budget in principle had been agreed, the details haven't been passed on down to Chris yet.........either because they wanted to wait for the season to end before they had the meeting, or maybe the legal wranglings will have implications for the figure changing and they wanted to hold fire in case something was sorted in time to then pass on?

It's all guesswork why Chris doesn't know, but McCabe definitely said that a budget had been agreed for the summer.

Thanks. Was Chris Wilder at that meeting? I thought I read somewhere that he was.
