Basically KMac and Princie are way apart on the valuation of the (now-competitive Championship) club and Kev won't or can't afford to return the Prince's investment and meet his valuation to retain sole control. The way to settle it quick would be Kev to sell to the Prince on HRH's terms. But what if Kev doesn't think the Prince has the funds to take us to the next level, or if he thinks the Prince might think "taking us to the next level" means a new stadium or a change of identity?
It appears that McCabe doesn't now see the Prince as sole owner as being in the best interests of SUFC but if he can't afford to regain full control he needs to find investment quick. The kind of investor who will not want a big say in the future branding / commercial side of the club will be very hard to find. Plus, potential investors will be aware of the value of a huge plot of land on the edge of the city center (in terms of housing).
Wilder seemed pissed off in that interview but I'm sure he knows the score. There's a stalemate in the boardroom at the moment but I actually trust Kev in doing what he thinks best for the club. I'm sure Wilder knows this too. He's just got a bit mardy cos as it stands we will have fuck all to spend this summer unless we sell Brooks. This might happen but I doubt CW will walk, not this summer at least.
Saying that, history has shown that even the most devoted Blade, be it player or manager, will move to another club for more money. Wilder will know what the salary difference will be between us and, say, West Brom or Middlesboro in the PL.
