So pretty much getting to the last chance saloon, though Millwalls 3-0 defeat last night is certainly a boost. With Derby facing Middlesbrough this afternoon too, things could certainly open up IF we get the essential victory today. Therein lies the problem. We've been poor on the road recently, and Birmingham certainly need a positive result too.... A draw really would not be wonderful for either team.....

Anyway....

Any team news? :)

Duffy a starter?

Change things up front?

Or an unchanged starting lineup?

Should be an excellent crowd there this afternoon, boosted by large numbers of us. Stay safe mind, and let's hope the lads give us something to be proud of...... a scrappy win will be sufficient. Factoring in Adams goal ;) I'm predicting a 2-1 Blades victory - I hope...

I may not be as vocal as I usually am. Little un got me up at 3:20am. I may be asleep on the bus today.

Last night has given us that little extra incentive (not that there wasn’t one).

Duffy must start. Leon also.

I don’t know too much about Brum other than their league position and at this stage of the season the table doesn’t lie. We ‘should’ beat them today but that’s not how it works. I expect high intensity and tempo today.

And a 3-0 win

I'm on my way. Last away win I saw was about this time last year in the sunshine at Milton Keynes. Is that an omen?*

*Hint: it's not

Can't see Preston failing to beat Norwich at home. Hope Boro / Derby is a draw. If us and Preston win, and Boro / Derby is a draw there will be five teams on 69 points, meaning GD will come into play. If those results happen it won't be in our own hands. We will need to beat Preston and hope others slip up to take it to the last game. But we're definitely still in with a chance. Win our last three and I wouldn't bet against us sneaking 6th place. Must win today though.

Brum have revived under Monk and will have strong home support. The game will have a cup-tie feel about it.

Repeat the Brentford away performance and we will win, probably handsomely,; reproduce the Barnsley away performance and it's all over.

Proper football game today, proper as fuck, absolutely dripping with properness with some spice sprinkled on top.

We must win, so I know what I think's going to happen. But I'm going anyway...

Don't get to many away games but off to Birmingham today. If its half as good MK almost 12 mths ago. It will be a great day,

But it is a 3pts like all other games in april. That is much needed, that if we can take our chances we should be fine. Because its puts right in it although win & every game just gets bigger than the last. Win & Preston game could be 1 of biggest home games in long time. But its a tough game because survial makes teams dangerous look at derby losing to burton

Come on Blades, send the fuckers down!!

Quite looking forward to this one. I think the last away game I got to (Reading) was the last one we won – that’s perhaps a sign that we’ve missed a lot of opportunities in that period. If Duffy starts then great, that’s what I’d prefer; but I don’t share the view that we’re somehow doomed if he doesn’t play.

No Clarke in the squad, nor Moore. Brooks in the bench. Donaldson recovers from his injury playing FIFA to start.

Mark Duffy and Clayton Donaldson are recalled to start against their former club as the Blades meet Birmingham City at St Andrew's this afternoon.

David Brooks drops to the bench after a hectic period of games and Leon Clarke is not included after a back spasm in training.

Simon Moore (tonsillitis) and Jake Wright (knee) miss out so Jake Eastwood, Ricky Holmes and James Wilson are added to United’s bench.

Blades: Blackman, Baldock, Stevens, Fleck, O'Connell, Basham, Lundstram, Donaldson, Stearman, L Evans, Duffy.
Subs: Sharp, Wilson, Leonard, Lafferty, Holmes, Eastwood, Brooks.

One up front then? I would have liked Sharp to be starting.

Why Clayton over Billy?

Yes, he’d have been my preference with Clarke unavailable. A little surprising (and I think I’m fonder of Donaldson that a lot of fans) but I wonder if it weren’t Birmingham would he be starting?

Also just noticed, Stearman is captain. Perhaps a sign of things to come.

Seems a bit strange, but even when we think we must question Wilder, we really shouldn't.

Blimey I would to be in the trenches with some of you lot. Talk about being defeatist.

I every every faith the lads who are coming in today will do a really good job and we could easily win this today. Duffy and Clayton show be bang up for it today too.

Even of we dont win today, perhaps people shouldn' be so quick to write off the chances of their own team.

I know its opinions but I don't get this Donaldson negativity, I'm pretty sure his record in games started is 5 goals in 8 starts, and all 5 goals away from home, that's why he will have got the nod today

I would have preferred Duffy in for Lundstram and presume Brooks will replace Lundstram after an hour - if needed!!

Then Holmes for Duffy. Sharp for Donaldson after 70/ 75 minutes.

Must say we look very lightweight without Clarke.

Most of the aspiring teams will have injury concerns.

And our luck has to change. Big day for Donaldson.

My issue with Donaldson is he goes down far too easy for a big lad. Clarke will chase and work, whereas the Don seems to jump and fall over.

Not questioning CW on this one, he's earnt our faith in his decisions.

Suprising line up that one , I am really not bothered tho , come on Blades let's get a win to keep our season alive !!
I really hope Donaldson scores today he deserves a goal , come on Blades !!

At least I'm prepared to give Wilder and my team a chance before I write em off.

Bet your just a ray of positive sunshine in life.
I have an opinion just like you and with that selection i fear the worst.

North Korea has promised to do no more nuclear testing for now, they still have not got over the FCDC seal team they had to deal with last year, canclled all their bouncing nuke tests....

Not unhappy with the line up, Donaldson inclusion should upset them, should see Brooks for at least 20 and hopefully Holmes a sharpener, just in case the season runs on a bit.
