I have an opinion just like you and with that selection i fear the worst.

See, i told thi!

I’m sitting on a bus with a load of Bluenoses. Their team were shit but they cared. Our lot thought they were Citeh and lost the ball after 20 passes and progressing backwards. Don was ridiculous, Billy should have started. Brooks lies down for 5 minutes as though he needs intensive care and then skips back on as though nothing has happened. What happened to passion?

The Day the Magic Died

CW’s team selection was crazy, In a game we needed to win he played 1 up top (Donaldson) and 5 in midfield, No Brook, No Sharp... against a team in danger of relegation. that’s the guy who always says “you know my style, we will always attack and go for it” well Chris you didn’t set up to ‘go for it’ today!

Watching us play like this makes me wonder how we got all those points from early on in the season. None of the team seemed fucking arsed, bullied around by relegation fodder when we are on the brink of a play off finish.

Disappointing end to a great season, shame the players don’t reciprocate the fans passion.
We didn't have Stearman, that's the reason we got all those points. Before he arrived we'd won 7, lost 1. Since he arrived we've won 11, lost 14, drawn 9. Just look out for his positioning on any of the goals we concede. He is just awful.

To get into the position we were in, after not starting the game particularly well, we had a decent spell before stepping off the gas, were inevitably punished, and then looked clueless about how to get back into it. It was infuriating to watch. Some bizarre defending down the right where Lundstram repeatedly seemed to assist Baldock (which more often that not saw them getting in each other’s way) while Lundstram’s actual man was completely unmarked for a simple pass. I thought the three of them were poor, and tbh I couldn’t really decide between Fleck and Evans on who was worse – Fleck in particular was caught in possession numerous times.

Up front, Donaldson offered little, but in fairness any time he got the ball any of our players were about 20 yards away. Duffy got his goal, celebrated, and then did very little the rest of the game.

I didn’t have Birmingham down as a particularly physical side, but we were second best in every physical battle there was out there today.

We looked like a midtable side with nothing to play for, and that was matched with the support offered once the equaliser came – horribly quiet 2nd half at times, first time I’ve thought our away support was subpar this season.

Brooks lies down for 5 minutes as though he needs intensive care and then skips back on as though nothing has happened.

Truly bizarre. I’d like to think he “soldiered in” but it looked highly suspicious whether he was injured in the first place, and looked like an attempt to get a free-kick off the contact (after being caught napping on the ball).

Arrived? Stearman has been here all season.

Totally agree LB , you wouldn’t have thought last nights result had opened the gates for us would you ?
After last weeks effort other than a 20 minute period today we played with no intensity or intent & appeared to be going through the motions of a mid table nothing to play fo play for team.
I think Wider knows he’s got everything he can out out this group of players and looks as frustrated as us lot .
The most disappointing bit is that we are been out battled by the likes of these and Barnsley in recent weeks & its not something I thought I’d be saying about a CW team

Of course pre match needed a win today but then every game since easter. Had ramped up in importance. Was always going to dangerous game. That why its Fair play to Birmingham, friendly fans ones i met, up for chat, giving advice of where to to leave after match. Garry Monk set them up well. & effectively had 3 cup finals, were always going raise their game. 1st 20 mins we played well. Then afterwards. We let them impose themselves, we started playing their game, couldnt keep hold of possession or gave it away too cheaply. Times in that 1st half where it was wave after wave as it wouldn't stick. Donaldson had his poorest in game in while as espically that 2nd half i cant think of any chance we had

In following interview i think wilder summed it up very well “The verdict is we weren’t good enough. Didn’t deserve to win. The damage has not been done today. The damage has been done when we have played well and not won.” Because we can try to blame many things in todays match, but we've been our worst enemy as since resumption after international break. we taken lead in every game. But ended up with 1 win 3 draws & 2 defeats. You cant have that & expect to challenge
Lead Brentford - drew
Lead Cardiff - drew
Lead Barnsley - lost
Lead middlesboro - won
Lead Millwall - drew
Lead Birmingham - lost

But overall of course Gutted that play offs are all but over. this last month has been disappointing. But ive enjoyed the ride & overall we have surpassed all expectations. We could easily been in Boltons situation

Got back from Brum at 7 pm - had a lovely tea - best thing of the whole day.

1st half wasn't too bad - 2nd half reminded me of Preston away earlier on in the season - it was bad that day, but today was WORSE.

We showed zero ambition considering what was at stake.

We were out done by a very poor Birmingham side - not quite as bad a Barnsley, but nearly - so what does that make us?

Absolutely shocking today - zero penetration - what the fuck is all this sideways and backwards stuff we have become - because fuck all is happening up front, in midfield or in the hole between the lines.

We have completely and utterly lost our way.

For the ones saying we need just a couple of players next season - you're living in a dream world.

Sean? - sorry, the word is mediocre. It's happening far far too often.

Off to bed - pissed off with what I have seen today.

Well done to the Zulu's - they wanted to stay up much more than we wanted to go up.

Arrived? Stearman has been here all season.
Sorry GG, I meant came back. He didn't play from the 15/8 to 31/10. We went on to win the remaining 2 matches in August, 5 out of 6 in September and all 3 in September until he returned, and we immediately lost at QPR. In his absence we went on our best ever run winning 10 out of 11 games. In my opinion he's an appalling chancer. Just go through a handful of the goals we've conceded and watch his positioning. Awful.
