Do you think that 2 wins + 1 draw is enough for play-offs?

We have to be realistic, 3 wins is just very hard for us to do, especially with our current streak. I can see us win the first 2 games, but Bristol away is just a hard game. 2 wins + 1 draw. Enough for play-offs?

That'll probably bring it down to goal difference. Which won't be at all gut wrenching....

People seem to be claiming Birmingham as an easy three points but I think it's our hardest remaining game.

It'd be just like us to lose at Birmingham but then beat Preston and Bristol City.

We've always been absolutely shite at finishing seasons. If we win all three then it'll be a miracle.

You are falling into the trap of looking at League position and thinking one game is easier than another. That’s not the case. Think Wolves at home and Hull City away.

3 wins in a row isn’t beyond anyone, and If we took 50% of our chances we could win all 3. But the facts are we don’t take 25% of our chances.

I think we can beat Preston at home (just) but it will be tough. I think Bristol City will be the easiest of the remaining 3 games. They’ll have given up by then. They’re on a poor run of form and that’s really far more important than league position.

Brum are on a revival of form and will be fighting for their lives and it will be the toughest game of all. I expect us to lose there.

Hope this helps!

I think we'll win two and lose one.

We'll miss out by one point.

Derby 5th
Boro 6th
Millwall =7th
Blades =7th

In my lifetime I can only remember us winning once away from home on the last day of the season.

2009-10: Ipswich 0-3 Blades

Not looking forward to the trip to Birmingham at all (then again who does, it's a shithole).

They're fighting to stay in the division, we've got to fight harder.

Its a must win for both teams and we are the better team.

2009-10: Ipswich 0-3 Blades
1971-72 Wolves 1 Blades 2
1973-74 Ipswich 0 Blades 1
1981-82 Darlington 0 Blades 2
1986-87 Portsmouth 1 Blades 2
1989-90 Leicester 2 Blades 5

Well funnily enough on the predictor. I predicted Millwall draw, Birmingham & Preston win. That had us on 72pts needing to beat Bristol city on final day as draw/73pts wouldnt be good enough because goal difference

No, we need to win all three remaining games and hope results elsewhere go our way ............................... highly unlikely. :(

I think it can and will be but depends on specific results:

Win vs Preston and a win and a draw from the rest.

That way:
Bristol cannot then catch us.
Preston cannot catch us.

We then need:
Millwall to achieve only draws vs the teams above them
Boro and Cardiff to beat Derby and them to draw with Villa.
Brentford to not win all 3 remaining fixtures.

Win all three and you of course have a greater margin.

A win on Saturday would be a crucial step that’s for sure as Millwall and Boro are bound to drop points the following week as they play each other.

It was probably good Brentford scored late vs Fulham as that now makes a win away at Millwall even more crucial.

Birmingham will be missing Harlee Dean,he got sent off at Wolves.

Not that bothered. Dean was decent at Brentford but was part of Harry Redknapp's usual spunkathon with other people's money (£2m for Dean...). He hasn't scored yet for Brum but has managed to get sent off twice this season.

Or Derby at Burton last weekend (Burton's first home win since September 16, 2017 when they beat...Fulham). And that's the thing - anybody can beat anybody else in the best division out of the top four and next season the Championship will have bigger teams and be more attractive. Stoke and West Brom will join us, Burton (and hopefully Barnsley) will descend to their rightful level and Blackburn and Wigan are coming up from Division One.

On a final note, just noticed that Birmingham's First Team Coach is...

To answer the thread title question, I have to say ‘no’.
Personally, 3 wins only gives us a chance of making it - any more dropped points & we’re done.
Real question for me is if we’re actually capable of winning our last 3 games. Again, sadly, I have to say ‘no’.
Sorry everyone but that’s my pessimistic view - we’ll just miss out this season.

I don’t think we’ll win either of the away games to be honest, I just hope we beat Preston to sign off the season with a last home game win.

With the way it's going it wouldn't surprise me if 73 points is enough. We all have to play each other so the teams around will be dropping points regardless.

We just need to go at it one game at a time now. Go and win at St Andrews and see where that leaves us.

My predictions for the remaining games and the clubs around us... (they obviously mean nothing and anything could happen) - but there is every chance!

Wonder if he's got a disabled parking space at St Andrews?
