Left Back

The first position we should be looking to strengthen in the summer in my opinion. The number of crosses Enda Stevans allows in is unreal. He is always way too far off of his man. Not good enough for this level. Obviously Wilder doesn't rate Lafferty either, so for me it's a matter of urgency we get this sorted.
 



I started watching in 1970 and left back has always been our weakest position ,even in an all time Blades 11 not many pick the same one ,we have never had a stand out class left back un like every other position. Best 3 have been Hemsley ,Bolton and Nilsen in my opinion. For what its worth I prefer Lafferty to Stevens ,one of the reasons is he makes O'Connell a better player as he trusts him more.

Greg Taylor at Kilmarnock. 20yrs of age, current scottish u21 left back and has 70ish 1st team game sunder his belt.
Andy Yiadom at Barnsley.
Jamie Robson at Dundee Utd. 20yrs of age. Sunderland, Southampton & Derby have had a look at him.
Jay DaSilva at Chelsea, currently on loan at Charlton. 19yrs of age. England u19 left back.
Lorenzo Dickman at Novara. 21 yrs of age. Played for Italy u21's.
Dan Wishart at Forest Green Rovers. 25 yrs old and might be a late developer.
 
Left back or left wing back? The closest we have to a left back is JOC and he’s been immense this season and last.

Left wing back, after almost a full season I definitely preferred lafferty there as he allowed JOC to overlap better last season.

Can’t really compare Stevens and lafferty though as they were playing in different divisions
 
So is this a budget problem or is left back one of the few positions Wilder isn't a genius at as he brought both of them to the club...he also signed that other lad who he jettisoned almost immediately

I must admit, under Bassett I quite enjoyed watching David Barnes and Tom Cowan.

I always stick Whitehouse there so I don't have to choose between him and Hodges at left mid.

You believe they are all better than Stevens?

Only one of them has even played in the championship and that is Yiadom who is a right back o_O
 
Let's not forget that Blackman isn't ours just yet but if he was, yep left wing back would be top of my shopping list.

No, they'd make decent additions to the squad, Taylor in particular is a talent. Yiadom can & has played either side at full back for Barnsley & Ghana.

Jack Robinson on a free transfer would be a good signing. We were linked and I'd expect us to try for him.

Antonee Robinson is more of a genuine LWB and would be a good loan or buy from Everton. He's been on loan at Bolton.
 
Enda looked decent at the start of the season. Since December he has looked absolutely shocking. Shows how little Wilder must think of Lafferty.

Beat me to it! The goal celebrations alone were legendary! Shame he wasn't the fastest but boy could he strike a ball! Andy boy could he celebrate in an era were most players just shook hands!
 
The reason we’ll miss out on the top 6 isn’t because of our LWB.
It certainly isn’t our number one priority

Exactly.

We don't play with a left back at the moment, and maybe it's time we did ( and a right back to go with it )
