I see where you are coming from but we need more than a couple of Signing and they can’t the bang average or below average tripe we signed in January.

Of the current squad I would only want to see the following starting regualr next season

Blackman (if we can get another season loan)
JOC
Fleck
Coutts (depending on recovery)
Duffy.

This club is not going to move forward in this division by giving the manager peanuts to spend on L1 players who cannot cut it at this level. What we have seen since the new year (results-wise) is a consequence of our board not supporting the manager in the summer or January. Wilder is right, we should be well up there, and we are not because they did provide the finances to allow Wilder to bring in some some proven Championship level quality, which would turn games like the last three, in our favour.

The tw@ts on the board need to sort out whatever pantomime is going on, and move the club forward. If they do not, Wilder will leave sooner rather than later and we will end up going backwards. If they arent prepared to do this then they shoulld f*ck off.

Lets face it, Wilder has performed a miracle to get this team close to the playoffs, it was always likely it was going to end in disappointment.

Hopefully we can keep hold of our better players and add some real quality to improve the starting XI and hopefully have a even better season next season.

Do you not think that if we were going to add some real quality that we would have done it in the January TW ? . I would imagine close season recruitment will be of similar lines to usual. Having said that, Yes Blade, totally agree with your opening statement.

The title of this thread - 'It's The Blades Way' - sums it up. As fans, we're loyal but can be fucking depressing. I wonder if the Bristol City and Derby forums have 'It's the Bristol Way' etc. threads? Or Arsenal? According to some, we're a team made up of ageing, lower league has-beens, Wilder will jump ship to those Galacticos at West Brom and Clarke is lazy and rarely turns up. McCabe has pocketed all the cash and we'll be as good as relegated by Christmas.

And yet - by some massive fluke - we're in ninth place and haven't been out of the top nine all season (after game 4 when tables can say owt). Nobody has 'turned us over' and we've haven't packed it in post-Coutts.

If, as some hope, we end up in the PL then the depression will start. Forget the £200m they claim it's worth, it barely buys you survival these days. Forget the parachute payments as it's no guarantee of an early return - in fact, quite the opposite. The team needs to be broken up and you start again, often weaker than when you went up (QPR, Norwich, Hull, Sunderland etc.)

And the usual suspects will claim that McCabe needs to 'get his hand in his pocket'. I hope they're bloody deep pockets to try to compete with the 'big boys' - including of course Man. City who, if they land their summer targets, will have spent £600m in two years. Or is 40 points and mere survival the target? Trust me, the novelty of the PL will soon wear off, like it has at clubs like Stoke and West Brom.

We're doing just fine after 6 years of stagnation.

We've played well enough to have win most of the last half dozen games but have drawn most of them due to an appalling lack of confidence in front of goal and unforgivable lapses in concentration at the back
We've not got what we deserved out if these games due to these two things but mostly because of the strikers lack of confidence

It’s the same for most clubs bar a handful of very rich elite clubs. Even they have their failures. Although their definition of failure is different to ours.

We are not exceptional in that respect.

Although most football fans will think different to that.
