I seem to remember an article in Shoot magazine about Trevor Francis when he was playing for Brum, he stated that his favourite team as a boy growing up in Plymouth was Sheffield United.

David Herbert pig centre forward was a blade, same time as Steve ludlam joined us on schoolboy terms, who was a pig supporter.
Both came from Carter lodge school hackenthorpe, where I also went, albeit a bit younger than me.
I played in the same school team as them at Rainbow Forge and as far as I remember Jonboy, you call it spot on. Although I did think David Herbert was a centre half. Once met Slugs in the Cricketers but he never bought me a pint!

Stevie ran a few pubs in Sheffield when he finished playing. 2 in particular that I went in the Bradley well, darnal, and the cross scythes, Derbyshire lane. I never got a drink out of either.

I often wondered why Sterland played for us in "When Saturday Comes". I always thought he was a bigger pig as you could get. Dronfield lad apparently.

I played with Mel for 2 or 3 years after he finished playing professionally, & he couldn't be any more a pig if he tried. Strangely though he is a decent lad, sorry if that grinds but he is.

Jack Marriot from Peterborough is supposed to be a Blade isn't he?! I'm hoping though that next season he'll not be one that never played for us though! :)

Now he is. Got a post office safe storage business I believe?

Told me asa kid he was a Blade "but then I saw sense" fat twat.

Joking aside he's a decent bloke an excellent company. Know him through a mate of mine who meets up with him a lot in Spain.

Good old Carl, never quite got my head round him sorting our holiday out in Thomas Cook! We lamented our misery against Bristol City all those years ago. Lets hope there's a glimmer for us going into the game and a happier outcome this time round!

Family are Wendy’s I believe. Never really cared for either though. Played for the mighty Throstles though.
I played for the mighty throstles as did andy bruno morris,he was 3yr above me at school but a very good friend, went on tour with throstles with him to rotterdam, early 80s.

Believe John Beresford also did? As did I!
