No real surprise that no Blades are in it. I thought Fleck might have a squeak but up against the likes of Neves and Crainey he was a long shot. How the #### Terry is in it I'll never know !

Some familiar names in the league one team including Burns and Morsy. Other players that have been mentioned on here also made the team, Mulgrew,Deck and Carey amongst others.

Bloody stupid that, with most teams having their most important 6 games to go. They will look pretty daft when Leon ends up top scorer with an amazing half a dozen hat tricks to finish the season.

The girlfriend-shagger and serial disabled-bay-parker, is a 'big' name. He did us all a right favour by condescending to drop down to the Championship and insisted it was put in his contract.

Burn, Byrne and Morsy. Good League One players. Who'd have thought it!

Not one Cardiff player in the Championship team!

Adomah, Vydra and Reid is a very underwhelming front 3 for a team of the year.

Can't argue with a midfield 3 of Maddison, Cairney and Neves.

Surprised Coady gets in at centre back.

Given Wolves and Fulham are by far the best teams I've seen this season, and Cardiff were pretty average, I'm not sure why this would be surprising?

Full team:

EFL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM OF THE YEAR
John Ruddy (Wolves)
Ryan Fredericks (Fulham)
Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham)
Conor Coady (Wolves)
John Terry (Aston Villa)
Tom Cairney (Fulham)
Ruben Neves (Wolves)
James Maddison (Norwich City)
Bobby Reid (Bristol City)
Albert Adomah (Aston Villa)
Matej Vydra (Derby County)

Manager: Neil Warnock (Cardiff City)
I think the only one of our players that you could make a case for inclusion is Jack O'Connell, but fair enough with Coady and Terry.

Edit - this is chosen by the division's managers, apparently.

That Fleck is not in the team is fucking criminal.

For me, it should be as follows:

Bialkowski (Ipswich) in goal.

A back three of Morrison (Cardiff), Flint (Bristol City) and Gibson (Boro).

Paterson (Cardiff) at right wing back, Douglas (Wolves) at left wing back.

Neves (Wolves) and Cairney (Fulham) in midfield with Jota (Wolves) in the hole.

Vydra (Derby) and Zohore (Cardiff) up front.

No Blades, I agree. Closest players I considered were O’Connell and Baldock. Fleck is fantastic but there’s some quality midfielders around - I’ve not found space for the likes of Costa and Cavaleiro from Wolves or Jedinak and Snodgrass at Villa. And I’ve not put Sessegnon in!

Main issue with mine and official team - where’s all the Pig players? Surely Adam Reach gets in? Surely everybody looks past the injuries to pick Bannan, Westwood, Lees, Forestieri and Hooper yeah?

Not sure that it is. I saw Neves and Cairney in the flesh and both were on a different level to Fleck. Not sure any of our players really were in with much of a shout, as others have said O’Connell and Fleck were probably our best candidates.

It’s only our first year at this level though and without doubt if Baldock improves his final ball he’ll be in with a chance next year. If Fleck can add goals to his game he could be in there. If O’Connell can be a little more consistent, also add a few goals and the team provides him with the platform he needs to bomb forward then he could be in there.

Doherty and Douglas, the Wolves wing backs, could easily be in there. Both are quality. Doherty in particular has become a very good player.

I was thinking more of replacing Maddison with Fleck. He's held our team together post-Coutts and would have walked away with EFL POY if he'd still got Coutts at the side of him. Best player we've had since Brown in my opinion.

Or perhaps Coutts himself if Coutts had been at the side of him all season?

Sessegnon is a Left Winger so how can they put him in at Left Back?

John Terry had the best CB performance at the lane than any CB i van remember.

Quality player. But a prick.

Can't imagine the managers really give a shit about filling it in. Probably ends up getting sent to the kit man who just picks players he's heard of

Put any 8 players from the Championship together and then add Coutts, Fleck and Duffy to the midfield and they'd beat that team any day.

Plus Wilder to be the manager.

If Baldock could keep his shots down he'd be the 'Freeman' of the Championship.
Unafraid to shoot and fierce as f*k, just that the shots rise to a nice height that the keeper can warm his hands on them.

, ....and without doubt if Baldock improves his final ball he’ll be in with a chance next year..

There is a cunning plan to make it so..

Fleck is great but he hasn’t assisted or scored enough to get in the team of the year
