As a kid I remember going down to shovel snow off the pitch at the Lane in return to free entry to the match. If enough people came down and the snow could be shifted in time, the match went ahead. Icy pavements close to the Lane were gritted. I remember we ended up having a snowball fight on the kop, and some of the opposition players got pelted with snowballs too. Jumpers for goalposts eh?

Villa in the cup...That diving tw@t Milsovic got pelted and then Dwight Yorke did his cheeky chip penalty to add insult to injury.

Be surprised if it is off but then I was surprised they called a game off 48 hours before the kick off 2 weeks ago. They have got some of the forecasts quite a bit off with more than predicted some days and less others. I would say there is some doubt based on the forecast but more chance game being played but could be a fun one if heavy snow coming down from lunchtime

Here's a thought. Considering that Sky pay compo when they televise a match (to make up for the loss in attendance revenue), if the game is off tomorrow, why not re-schedule it for next Saturday rather than have another fixture-congested Tuesday night match? Oh, I forgot. It's one of those fucking pointless 'international breaks'.

They were all right for goalies, though. Most people couldn't kick them very hard, and they went in a straight line, no dipping and swerving. There was no getting it up and over a wall from a free-kick. It was a bugger taking a goal-kick on a muddy pitch, mind.

Which forecast you looking at?

Both BBC and Met Office showing heavy snow midnight into tomorrow morning. Then heavy snow from lunch right to teatime.

If these forecasts are accurate; it will be a struggle to get it on. Council will postpone it...the other week was much worse but they pulled it with 48 hrs to go! I expect we'll wake up to a few inches and council will be round the lane with a clipboard.
