What a player.

Since coming on to the pitch tonight he has completely changed the flow of the game. We were by no means playing badly but were looking somewhat slow and ponderous and Burton were enjoying their best spell of the game. On comes Brooks and everything that we do suddenly moves up a gear. Passes are played more quickly, there is more movement and therefore more players in space wanting the ball and making things happen.

Not only does he scare the shit out of the opposition with his quick thinking, feet and running but he also encourages the rest of the team to play the same.

What a player he is going to be. Hopefully for us...

Exactly why he should be starting. I have no idea what Wilder was thinking starting with Wilson instead of him.

I called it before the game that we should start sharp with Duffy and Brooks in behind.

I've not been able to see the game tonight but brooks needs to start on Saturday. He's an outstanding player. I M H O.

With Duffy and Brooks starting and Holmes ready to replace whoever tires first we would have a team capable of playing Forest off the park. I think we should go sh1t or bust but that's why I'm not a manager !

So calm when he took his goal, probably only Billy could have took it so well. That’s is with exceptional players like Brooksy, their speed of thought makes it seem so easy, like the game’s being played in slow motion.

Problem is mate is that when Leon comes back, which he will do very soon. that means Duffy will be the only player that Brooks could come in for on current form. Duffy has been so consistent that it would be harsh to drop him. Its a great problem to have and had Brooks been fit all season I think we'd probably be nearer the top two than 7th.

Based on most of Leons performances before he got injured he shouldn't be coming straight back into the side. Brooks should play off Sharp.

If we don't play him we will lose him. Why would he stick around to sit on our bench when he could get 5x as much money sitting on the bench of a premier league side?

Even when he came on at Fulham when the game was lost the tempo suddenly changed and he unsettled the Fulham defence. He's always had that quality of running at defences, quick feet and ball control and he has hunger too. He is such an asset. I think Wilder wants to use him cautiously and not draw too many greedy eyes onto the lad. I think he is bound to start one of the next couple of games. If not on Saturday then he will definitely be needed at Brentford where we will need to start on the front foot.

He doesn't press as I think Wilder would like, good player and unpredictable, hot and cold. Still not sure he deserves a start. Great impact sub. If we were to start him it would require a formation change from the 2 up top I think. Still good goal and really welcome, hope he goes on to great things but I wouldn't rely on him at the mo.

Why would it require a formation change? He is a striker not a Duffy-type player. Brooks plays slightly off the main striker, there is no need to change anything.

Love the kid , hope he doesn't leave but the inevitability is he will when we don't go up , if he does go I will wish him all the best and follow his career .

I think Wilson is getting some unfair criticism on here, you can tell technically he's a great player and he doesn't waste it much when it's at his feet. He's barely had any chances to feed off when he's played and I think if he had one or two sniffs at goal he'd be putting it away.

He's not going to win any plaudits when he's being asked to hold the ball up or constantly running back to our defence which he has been.

I think there is - but it's a personal opinion. Players looking to play up top normally see 2 players - with Brooks you wouldn't see that, lot more shorter balls (no problem with this). I just think it's a different scenario from Clarke / Billy, no real physical outlet. Happy to try it.

If you’re a striker and you’re not scoring you’ve got to be either creating for others or putting an absolute shift in to make space for teammates. It’s a performance business, particularly at the top of the pitch. Wilson hasn’t been doing it.

brooks also has the space when he comes on as Wilson has run them into the ground. there is an agenda against Wilson

He really isn’t. Sorry.

depends what Chris sees his role as..

Leon's going to have to wait. The Duffy/Brooks combination is key to us reviving our season, it's a no-brainer.

Once every so often a player comes along that brightens up the whole pitch. A player that you genuinely look forward to seeing play. You applaud him coming on and perhaps give a cheeky smile and a nod to your pal next to you, who is thinking the exact same thing. The acknowledgement that, hopefully, you're about to watch summet very good.

That's David Brooks for me at the moment. Long may it continue.

Absolute bollocks that - he got a goal at Norwich and not had a sniff since then. It's not like he's been missing chance after chance is it ? It's clearly an area where we are seriously short at so we can't write him off.

Getting into the play offs is a free hit for us this season, unleash Brooks and see what damage he can do. I can't think of many if any in this division that have the same natural ability.
