The official site says it will be decided in « due course ». Unfortunately ticket office closed today and Saturday so can’t discuss with them. I’m abroad from Monday returning 24th March, does anyone have an « inkling » as to what date it will be rearranged for ? Should I get my money back or hold onto them ? They were hard enough to come by where I wanted them, ( harder than Villa match), so could hold onto them. I understand that’s my personal dilemma and problem, but looking at the fixtures in March how likely is it that it will be arranged for this month ?

Most likely a spare Tuesday, perhaps one earmarked for an FA Cup replay

The free midweek dates we have are;
13th/14th March
17th/18th April
24th/25th April
1st/2nd May

Could we not play it March 24th the Saturday of the next international break? Not sure how it works or if we are even allowed to get it in then but not like either side is going to miss any players (Brooks maybe for us but not been playing anyway and no guarantee Wales will pick him after recent injuries - may prefer him to get fit with us and then Lafferty)

The 24th/25th April date would be ideal, this would give us 4 home games out of the last 6 fixtures and do our top 6 finish aspirations no harm at all.
Gotta be honest.

I strongly suspect that it was more than just H&S that decided on the postponement. And that what you mention above may have further added weight ;)

UTB

One of the other postponed games has already been rearranged for the 13th, so I'll go then.

Lee Evans likely to be called up by Wales also so could have three players missing so unlikely.

I don't reckon we'll want to leave too many games and be knackered with the pressure on. 20th March I reckon

Hold on for now - they won't wait for weeks and weeks to let us know. I reckon we'll know the new date by the end next week, beginning week after at the latest

I heard you Silent Blade. But there are Internationals the week after, that'll be (along with the weekend) the window, not the week before

We are playing Cardiff on Easter Monday, Boro on 10th April so after March 13th/14th, the next available midweek date is April 17th/18th

There’s a White Collar Boxing event taking place at the Lane on Saturday 24th March. I know because I’m fighting in it! That starts between 4 and 5pm so can’t see us choosing to play it then.

What's stopping them announcing it for the Tuesday 13th?

No doubt that date will be wiped out as a possibility due to not giving enough notice...

I refuse to go on holiday during the football season but this year I agreed to go for the week that was designated the international break. I never miss a Blades home game but I bet it's arranged between 22nd to 29th of March, bastards.:(

Well it's not going to be rearranged for next Tuesday now is it.

Why?

Why?

Probably because Burton are pushing for the Saturday 24th option, which would be understandable from their point of view, particularly if we’re slightly weakened.

In the international break?

Yes, hence why we would be potentially weakened. I know that we would be in our rights to postpone due to Lafferty, Brooks and Lee Evans being likely called up, but I imagine Wilder would just prefer to to use that weekend despite that. Just a hunch.

In the international break?

It's time these were scrapped for teams outside the PL. They waste Saturdays - usually when the weather is good - and bad weather on other weekends contributes to a fixture pile-up, people stopping at home etc.

The lie about international breaks is that they give our teams a better chance of success (even if they come before a meaningless friendly against the likes of Moldova). What Success? England, Wales etc. will not 'trouble the scorers' in the WC - again. Half the players won't bother turning up for the 'training sessions' and - if they really wanted a 'better chance of success', why keep employing utter stiffs like Allardyce, Southgate and Woy?

Fleck too possibly. Unless McLeish watched him at Hull.
