I've been put off posting this seeing as everyone was on such a downer last week, but here we are.

Give me your nominations for the following along with your reasons :)

Player of the season

Goal of the season

High point of the season

Low point of the season

One to watch for 2009/10

Predictions for 2009/10

and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season ;)

1. Killa - oozes class
2. Can't think of many great goals we've scored so I'd go for BT's volley v Bristol City (h)
3. Beating Preston at the lane in the play offs and confirming place in the final/Play off final day up to 3pm.
4. Disappointing display at turf moor which pretty much ended auto hopes & play off final display.
5. Kyle Walker only had a few games but looks a class act
6. If we keep hold of our better players and bring in 15+ goalscorer, get the midfield sorted and stop worrying about the opponents then no reason why we shouldn't go for the top 2.
7. ?????????????????????????

Player of the season

Kyle Naughton, with Morgs a close 2nd.

The lad came in, done his job, after a few game he then became one of the most consistant performers in the team, i can recall a moments when Naughton would burst forward and really rally the team and crowd, without the intention.

Goal of the season

BT volley v Bristol

High point of the season

After Halford goal v PNE, 2nd would be PNE's late winner at Birmingham

Low point of the season

Pigs double, play off final dissapointment felt inevitable, the pigs double didnt. It was a 90+ year old record we held as well as not seeing the grunters beat us at he lane for about 40 years, it all vanished before us.

One to watch for 2009/10

Jamie Ward, I reckon if he can get an understanding with another striker we could have ourselves a budding 'Kevin Phillips'.

Predictions for 2009/10

Hard to say at the minute, mid table I reckon though.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season

That handsome lad, I think he posts on here as SunderlandBlade

1. Killa
2. Halfords header against preston in play-offs
3. Seeing blades walk out at new wembley
4. 4.45pm 25/5/09
5. The two Kyles will get even better
6. Top 8
7. ???????? could be any one from many!!!!!!!!!

Player of the season
Kyle Naughton

Goal of the season
Greg Halfords 20 yarder. Forgot who against was at the lane against Derby i think.

High point of the season
Beating Preston to go to Wembley

Low point of the season
Losing the second game against the piggys

One to watch for 2009/10
Kyle Walker

Predictions for 2009/10
Unless we get some decent new signings i feel weve got a relegation battle ahead, but hey, thats just me :) i like to think negative

Player of the season
Kyle Naughton

Goal of the season
Halford gotta be

High point of the season
Preston Playoff games

Low point of the season
Losing to the Pigs

One to watch for 2009/10
Kyle Walker

Predictions for 2009/10
We will win more than we lose

and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season
SHorehamview cos he's crazy & clever at the same time, one more than the other, but not sure which :D

Player of the season

Chris Morgan, an excellent season and actually improved after the Iain Hume incident which would have ruined most other player. Consistant all season, rarely put a foot wrong and battled hard all the way through

Goal of the season

Brian Howards goal v Reading, it really did give us a sense of belief that we could make the top two and at the time was flying and really looking like getting an automatic spot

High point of the season

Before the match at Palace, thousands of Blades there, and a real sense that it would be our day

Low point of the season

After the play off final, a massive disappointment

One to watch for 2009/10

Kyle Walker (if we can keep him)

Predictions for 2009/10

Mid-table mediocraty and a transitional period

I've been put off posting this seeing as everyone was on such a downer last week, but here we are.

Give me your nominations for the following along with your reasons :)

Player of the season

Nicky Montgomery

This was tough, as many had big shouts, but for all round "sod it - I'll prove 'em wrong" he gets it for me. Naughton was immense all year, and Morgs and Killa have to be close, but Monty gets it, because if nothing else, he scored from 20 yards at the Coach and Horses, and even the real doubters acknowledged that he can pass a ball.

Sometimes ;)

Goal of the season

Halford's curler from the left side. Almost passed in like goals used to be like in 1981 ;)

High point of the season

Getting cheap beer in Cricklewood Social Club before heading on to Wembley. £1.90 for not-watered-down-Kronenbourg was a bonus.

Low point of the season

The racist chanting from Blades which ruined my season. Again. You are pond-dwelling scum who don't even deserve to eat excrement.

One to watch for 2009/10

Beyonce Knowles. Works for me. Oh, that sort of watching ..... in that case ....

Beyonce Knowles.

Predictions for 2009/10

7th. We should be there or thereabouts, but I just fear the 'nearlies' again, especially as the division has a slightly stronger look about it next season.

and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season ;)

Gotta be BB! Just in front of the lurking sufclucy ;)

Player of the season: Kyle Naughton ( Closely followed by Monty)

Goal of the season:Beattie(James)

High point of the season(Ipswich at home)

Low point of the season (Wembley)

One to watch for 2009/10 (Walker)

Predictions for 2009/10 (Promoted Champions)

and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season BB, A man with a true understanding of the real reason for forums such as this, closely follwed in joint second by SEB and SF (to quote Linz, the piss bag brigade)

Player of the season
Tough choice for me between Monty, Halford and Naughton....

I'm going to for Monty, because since he came back in the team we were so much more resilient.

Goal of the season

Gotta go with HH on this one, the curler from Halford was sublime.

High point of the season

The second leg performance against PNE, made me believe we could actually do it.

Low point of the season

Forest at home and losing to Owls at home....

One to watch for 2009/10

Kyle Walker for me, the guy seems to be so much better at defending than Naughton, and I can't rate him highly enough.

Predictions for 2009/10

Play offs - dependant on who comes and goes.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season

Also gona go for BB, nothing like cheap as chips.

Player of the season

Killa or Monty. If it had been voted for around February then I'd have gone for Killa, but after the diplays during the run-in at the end, it has to be Monty.

Goal of the season

Was there really a stand-out goal?

High point of the season

Beating Preston in the play-offs.

Low point of the season

As Sunderland Blade says, losing at Wembley seemed inevitable, but losing to the pigs, twice, was terrible. Having to put up with them crowing about the double like they'd won the Champion's League didn't help.

One to watch for 2009/10

How many of us predicted the emergence of the two Kyles? There just might be another quality player or two coming through from the academy.

Predictions for 2009/10

Heartache.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season

This is the tricky one. BB for some of the out-and-out wierdness of his posts, SEB or SF for the killer one-liners, but all in all it's got to be shared by the Chuckle Brothers, and not just for their antics in the SVmobile.

Player of the season

Got to go for Monty, proved alot of doubters wrong and always plays his heart out for the Blades. Morgan is close up there. Killa is always class.

Goal of the season

Not quite sure, been a few good goals scored this season.

High point of the season

The two performances against Preston. Some very good football played.

Low point of the season

The very poor performance against Burnley after such promising stuff against Preston. The two defeats against Wednesday.

One to watch for 2009/10

Both Kyle's. Both look very good and think there is more to come.

Predictions for 2009/10

Depending on if we get that goalscorer and that midfielder who can pull the strings then I'll go for promotion. It'll also depend on what we play like on the pitch.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season

SF - he's just getting more senile by the day, it's funny:D

Player of the season Kilgallon - defensive rock. Best in the division

Goal of the season Jamie Ward vs Southampton. Good goal but i'ved picked it due to it's importance, they had just equalised in the 89th so for him to pull that out was special.

High point of the season 1 of 2. Either walking up to Selhurst Park with all the blades or Walking up Wembley way. Expectations oh, expectations!

Low point of the season Tudgay's goal at the kop end!

One to watch for 2009/10 Kyle Walker & Lupoli (if he signs)

Predictions for 2009/10 Keep the team - Top 2. Don't - Top 10.

and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season ;)[/QUOTE] I'm new so have never met anyone but i'd like to say thanks to Linz for this useful thread!! (schlurp! i'm a suck up!)

Player of the season: Halford or Killa

Goal of the season: Halford's play-off winner against Preston at BDTBL. For the significance at the time and the cross from Walker

High point of the season: See goal of the season

Low point of the season: Pig games

One to watch for 2009/10: Two actually, Sam Wedgbury and Nathaniel Foster

Predictions for 2009/10: Same Owd

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season: The Gokman (SV to you all)

Player of the season: Morgan-Killa is not as confident without him, and morgan is becoming a great captain like Vinny Jones. Monty close second.

Goal of the season: Halfords cut in from the left then 20/25 yard drive against Ipswich, brought back memories of the type of goals we scored in our semis season all the time.

High point of the season: After Preston at home in play off semi, not seen a United side ever have such dominance in a game and pass so well.

Low point of the season got to be after Wembley

One to watch for 2009/10 Jamie Ward

Predictions for 2009/10 Automatic - this League will be no harder than another season despite Newcastle/Midsbro we are the best placed to get top 2 Threats will be West Brom and Derby.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season - Not been a member long enough and no one talks to me-apart from rachy and linz (yours sincerly still insecure)

Player of the season: Morgan

Goal of the season: Webber v Charlton (Cup)

High point of the season: "don't drop the keeper you numpty"

Low point of the season: Having to walk past the pigs celebrating at the Lane

One to watch for 2009/10: Kyle Walker

Predictions for 2009/10: 2nd, behind West Brom. Actually, I'm always wrong, the opposite will happen. Yay, We're going down with the West Brom

Player of the season

Monty and Morgan for me

Goal of the season

Probably Howards away at Reading juts cos of what it meant at the time.

High point of the season

Beatties equaliser at Wolves.... meant alot to me

Low point of the season

Losing at Wembley.

One to watch for 2009/10

If we sign him i'm gonna say Lupoli I think he will have alot to offer (mind you i did say quinn and webber last season)
Predictions for 2009/10

Highs and lows as usual.

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season

SF - cos he makes me laugh (at him not with him)

Forum member, Not got to know you well enough yet, so like many others i will have to say the lovely Linz[only friend i've got']

UP THE BLADES!!!

Player of the season
Monty - cos he turned all the stick around and became the most improved player of the season. Real bottle!! - But each one of the defence has been marvellous.
Goal of the season
Probably Naughton's against Derby - was good to see him get off the mark.
High point of the season
Palace away - great day - great feeling - worrying costumes!! - - then Reading were shit
Low point of the season
Donny and Forest at home - brainless football, truely awful. Always felt we were going to get nowt from Wembley and the Pigs met us at that time of the season when even Barlow Kingston Rovers would have turned us over!!
In a different vein - idiots round us on the Kop and their racist chants - and the fact that the knowledge some people have of the game, and our club in particular, seems to have reached rock bottom. The lowest had to be criticism of Blackwell for bringing on another defender - as Morgs is being stretchered off!!
One to watch for 2009/10
Blackwell - If he can buy well and find Plan B we'll be singing his name by Christmas!!
Predictions for 2009/10
5th - and beaten in play-offs - as usual
and one more, just for a lark...

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season ;)

Sheff-Utd Forum member of the season
Linz + crew - bit of a difficult job keeping peace at times and getting rid of some people :D
