We played Ok but no more than that. Evans passed it well and dictated, we looked a bit lost when he went off. Everything got a bit aimless after that and I wish we would stop doing the oh so predictable move of wing back goes down the wing, could cross it but then cuts back, passes to l/r cb who then crosses it from midway into their half with a floated ball that defenders love to head away - we will never score doing this. Anyway, deserved a point and played ok so don't want to be too critical.

We hit the bar, had an over head kick about a foot wide and their keeper was man of the match with 3 or 4 world class saves. But no, we obviously didn’t do enough to win a game that hinges on one defensive mistake in the 90th minute you over critical doom monger.

I don’t agree play offs are over but the midfield that started today showed far too much repeat to villa. One of Duffy or Holmes should have played in the usual 10 role rather than packing too much of the same in there. Too combatative without much quality. Didn’t see too much from Leonard but Wilder seems to get it right with these signings. I just find it bizzare we change the whole midfield when for 90% of the season it’s worked well even with Lundatram in for Coutts we seemed to be creating. Not sure why Evans got MoTM.

We played some terrific stuff first half. Baldock was absolutely on fire. Just a shame their keeper made some worldies and our strikers had a bit of a frustrating day, coupled with a cruel last minute winner against the run of play. A mistake not to play Duffy though, although Evans was impressive. By no means were we as bad as the OP suggests.

the poster is correct about us needing that top end championship player to unlock a close game. Most of the top half teams seem to have that certain player, be it a midfielder or attacker. The closest we have is Duffy who was sitting warming his arse. but in these 0-0 games that's the diff between say us and likely finishing 8th or 9th and the teams who will get in 4th to 6th

Their keeper made some decent and a couple of fantastic saves, I don't agree we deserves nothing, I do agree that we needed Duffy in the pitch, not sure why Lundstam was brought on.

If we finish 8th or 9th we'e done fucking brilliantly this season. That said, we should certainly do better given what we're capable of.

Fact is, against the likes of Villa and Bristol... and Derby, we arguably deserved wins. But for hitting the woodwork against a couple of them, we would have done.

There were some great battles out there and I was really impressed with our performance. We won the first half and were at least equal second half, barring a great goal from Snodgrass.

We didn't ride our luck last year, we dominated form start to finish. When you have the ball 90% of the time you seem to get all the luck this season the opposition have players that can punish us when we don't have the ball

Apart from that one bit of quality from Snodgrass we more than matched Villa. How many efforts on goal did they have over 94 mins? a lot less than we did. To say we deserved to lose is absolutely crazy and anybody who thinks so needs to book an urgent appointment at Specsavers before they embarrass themselves any further.
