Shame he played today really as Donny wanted him due to their 3 centre backs getting injured in the past week but now he’s played for 2 clubs already this season so a loan deal won’t be possible.

To be fair everyone saying he isn’t racing forward the team set up may have just said you 3 stay and defend.

It does make us more solid defensively obviously and doesn’t add much attacking. But we play with what we have and if we want to tweak the formation to have 3 defenders then so be it. I think we all agree JW and BH aren’t ever going to be the players to bomb forward.

Thought he was young quality. Did the job as well as CCV and didn't look like he was going to make the mistakes he did. Solid unit and performance. Good back up and a potential first team player in a season or two. Keep him in this season and 6 months loan next.

Have to say I agree. Give him benefit of doubt since he hasn't played any first team football this season but I thought he looked slow and was caught out of position several times with him trying to emulate the 'attacking CB' role and he's not quick enough to recover. As others mentioned he seems to have gone on the Che Adams diet and come back a bit of a unit, but I'm not sure that's helped him! Kinda happy that he's not first reserve CB as Wright is much better imo.

No surprise Wright and Heneghan didn't offer as much as J'OC and Bash. Wright and Heneghan are both centre halves and their best fit in this system is in the Stearman 'sweeper' role. Play a defence full of those types and you'll suffer a bit. FWIW, I actually reckon Stearman could do a tidy job at RCB. But made sense to keep him in the same position for consistency.
