Had an outing from the kop to family stand today.

Made a nice change and the child I brought seemed the thoroughly enjoy herself.

From there the penalty ooked like a good shout but not sure if it was a "stonewaller" anyone get a better view?

What I did notice, was that Ched really wanted to take it.....but Billy Sharp, captain, was never going to let him have it.

Jordan Rhodes should take note.

Thought it was a good tackle I'm not sure why it was given

Not a great view from the opposite end of the South Stand, but it looked a penalty the moment you saw the defender dive in. As in, similar to the Loovens bookings for Wednesday, it was a challenge he was never going to win and didn't need to go for.

Just watched the highlights, he got the ball.

Should never had slid in tho, sharps first touch took him away from the goal.

It was pretty soft from where I was, I was right in line with it on the South stand and it looked like he got the ball but he went through him and was probably a penalty 9/10 times.

I think the challenge on Ched a few minutes later was worse and should probably have been a penalty but obviously not going to be given so soon after, which shouldn't be the case but most referrees are too scared to apply the laws of the game in those cases.

Sat behind the goal got to the ball just but took Sharp out, penalty.

Nailed on pen. You can’t go through a player to get the ball although the defender had to try something to stop Billy getting his shot off, just unfortunate that he went straight through Billy first before getting the ball, a definite pen.

Sounds like a pen and a well 'won' one too, hope we do this more often.

Having watched the "highlights" probably about right. Lunged in a bit, in the box. Good to be in the next round.

Not the pigs though for me, and if it is them, have it at the deathtrap.

Big Prem side at home would be fun.

I took a Preston fan, he was sat in south stand, he said to me after the game it was a penalty, he was more angry with there experienced defender diving in for it, he reckons he should have just tried to close billy down, away from the goal.

The ref was the one who was involved in the Chelsea -Willian, Pedro and Morata penalty appeals v Norwich.

He does give penalties then.

Sure the player who gave it away never complained
Although I had partaken of a few strong beers before

From the middle of the South Stand, it looked a stone-waller. As the pundits might say, 'I've seen 'em given'.

What I've also seen given are fouls for when a player deliberately nudges one of our players and knocks him off-balance as he goes for a high ball. Didn't see many of those go our way today, even though it was Preston's favourite tactic.

I've also seen a yellow card given for persistent mouthing off to the ref., bad fouls and consistently and deliberately destroying the rhytmn of play. Yes, that odious little cunt Daniel Johnson (the prick with the pony tail. Know why they're called 'pony tails'? Lift one up and you'll find an arsehole underneath) did finally get a yellow for a borderline red on Fleck, but by that time he - and the rest of the Preston team knew the ref. and linos were weak and ineffective and could get away with owt. The first incident - when Johnson clearly gobbed off to the ref. A yellow then would have prevented many of the shenanighans that PNE got up to today.

The PNE player appeared to get something on the ball, but outside the box if you go THROUGH a player and bring him down you run the risk of having a foul given against you - very brave of the ref - or did the linesman give it?
