Preston are confident!

Not saying it's a done deal I've seen how we've come unstuck against poor teams after taking down good ones and these fuckers are very poor. But they seem unusually confident.

They weren't prolific against us but never the less did a job over us....

BUT...take nothing away from them.... They may not be considered one of the big hitters in this league, but they have only lost 1 game in their last 10...and 5 of these have been wins I believe at a quick glance.

They've turned over Cardiff and Bristol on their own patch recently and their away form isn't too shabby as a whole...

This is top 6 form and you can not knock it in the slightest! They have every right to be confident at the minute based on the results they are getting.

Whilst it is a fixture that we might well see as "winnable", this is far from a walk in the park for us.

If I were them and I saw the United that rocked up at Deepdale last month then I would be confident too.

Be interesting to see what team we put out with 4 new signings likely before then. I actually think we will be stronger then we were for the league game there even if we rest 3 or 4 players.

Post 211: was a decent read until I got to the line “In terms of infrastructure and fans we are almost identical to them”. With all due respect our average attendance must be over twice the size of theres. The only thing that’s identical is our history. Both were once very good top flight clubs and neither has won fuck all of any note for donkeys years

Surely the only time they see 25000 people in one place is when they go to Blackpool for the lights switch on? ;)

To be honest, which fixture is 'a walk in the park' ?
Birmingham, Bolton at home???
I'm all for a bit of enthusiasm, but sometimes reading comments from our fans that border on the "massive" seem to come from fans who started watching real-life football only yesterday

I'm 'ok' with the tie. Very winnable. Should be cheap tickets. Decent amount of loyalty points. If we win, it starts to get interesting as we're 1 game away from the Quarter Final.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we play against them when we actually have our midfield players available!

Haven't seen if they've started or not in the earlier rounds, but I would assume Leonard & Evans would be cup tied?

In fairness, for that game weren’t we missing coutts fleck Duffy and Brooks ?

For any PNE fan reading this, I can supply @The Crab’s name and address for a suitable cash price.

;)

:)

I hope they take it as the banter it's meant as. If they think thats bad they should hear what I think of Bolton ;)

Seem to remember when they last played us in the cup (4th round replay 3 years ago) their fans to a man had already chucked the towel in before the game had started ... it was all doom and gloom on their sites ... and that one ended up in a 1-3 defeat for us. So maybe it'll go the other way this time if they're all feeling confident about the game.

Can the new players play in the FA Cup or are they cup tied?

Meh, had a draw written all over it but we should have a competitive team out now after the new signings. Duffy lundstram Wilson sharp etc

If we repeat Preston league we are in trouble. We repeat today then we win comfortable & surprised at the confidence considering they lost. The defending was comical to say least

Expect a stunning display of bus-parking from Preston Knob End.

Including the (20th January) 1-1 home draw with Birmingham, Preston have only lost one league game in the last 13 (12 League and a 5-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup) including six draws. However they have won at both Bristol C. and Cardiff.

But Preston are similar to us. Yesterday, including a good following from Birmingham, the crowd was 13,529...

All they did is launch it to Hugill but we played ever so poorly that day.

Now we actually have a squad of players. I expect Lundstram / Duffy etc to start.

This is the biggest difference a few weeks ago our second string would have been Whiteman in midfield now it’s Lundstram / Duffy who are fresh.

Their defending was awful, but they drew they didn’t lose.
