Wilder does have a proven pedigree for walking out on clubs so don't be too surprised to see him leaving here .

When he does go though i hope ( a ) it's not been because he's been sacked and ( b ) he's taken us as far as he can .

i think you'll find its (b) with the added caveat "he's not good enough for the premiership" that we used to berate Warnock for.

Once again Big Fat Useless Hoofy Bent Sam is given the opportunity to besmirch the beautiful game in more ways than one.

Some people never learn. I hope they are relegated, preferably as a result of a wholly inexplicable penalty on the final day of the season.

Is my memory starting to fail me, or didn't the crooked old fraud announce his retirement, with huge "look at me" fanfare, earlier this year ?

It's not like the obese old hoofer to say things we can't trust, now, is it ?

Ah, but it's amazing what £6m can do to your conscience. If Moyes can keep getting jobs, anybody can.

Paul Lambert somehow finds himself back in the premier league after a less than flattering 2 spells in the championship.
This after Carlos inexplicably got himself in the hotseat at Swansea. It's like they both want relegation.

Lambert isn't that bad a manager but how on earth does he deserve this gig?

How are Gary Rowett, Chris, Lee Johnson and Dean Smith etc. constantly being overlooked in favour of this garbage?

long may it continue ,luckily for us mark whats he ever done hughes is out of work so he's next in line .

This is what happens when you don't have the replacement lined up.

Rowett chose to sign a contract extension at Derby ("Thank you Stoke").

Sanches Flores dilly dallied then remembered Stoke isn't in London, so he gave them the rods.

Martin O'Neil is very happy with his part time gig, so basically Stoke had to start scratching around.

Lambert may well be the best of what is left, but it does make you wonder if any other team would consider exchanging Hughes for Lambert, in the normal run of events. I don't like Hughes, but I can't say that Lambert is any kind of improvement.

A miserable Welsh git (who kicked Charlie Hartfield up the arse) swapped for a dour Scot. Oh to be a Stokie!

Maybe Pulis will be giving Stoke and West Brom the rods in May as he goes up and they go down.

He could have had the hat trick, but Woy seems to have got Palace looking OK now and Carlos is odds on to take one of the slots in the down elevator!

The Sanches Flores one made me laugh. As if he'd leave the sunny, beautiful city of Barcelona for... Stoke. Fucking hell.

Didn't he "accept" the job initially? Probably googled Stoke and thought "fuck that".

I realise this isn't to do with the premier but equally how does Giggs go straight into management as boss of Wales? Brilliant player tick, welsh tick, didn't he turn down the chance in the last few months at a lower league team from Lancashire? some ex premier players wouldn't lower themselves, how many ex top league players make good managers, probably the best thing they have got going for them is contacts at the highest level, think Robson, couldn't lace Wilder or knills manager shoes.

There's very few welsh coaches/managers available that the players would listen to, who would either take the job or haven't already done it. Basically toss a coin between giggs & bellamy.

He probably knew it was a shithole after visiting with Watford. I reckon he then searched 'Stoke surrounding areas' for somewhere nice to live, came across Burslem and changed his number, email and name so Stoke couldn't get hold of him.

'Quique Sanches Flores? Never heard of him. This is Quiche Sanches Flores, you must have the wrong number mate' 'No worries'

It was David Tuttle. As tough as Hughes was, kicking Charlie would have possibly left him resembling Alan Kennedy these days.

I don't know if anyone on here listens to the Athletico Mince podcast, but the 'British Managers Club' sketch from the last episode was superb.

Skip to 13.20 for that part but the podcast in general is brilliant.

Stoke are quickly heading towards their natural position in the football pyramid. It happens to everyone eventually. Swansea are also a passenger on the same bus. Same with West Brom.

I remember a few years ago, some people were using Charlton as an example of "steady away" management, going up and down between the top two divisions. Now look at them.

As you say, I think Swansea will be next. A while back people were saying about how their structure was "right" for a club of that size, and at the time it was. I don't see them escaping it this year.

I have couple of Welsh mates who travel home & away watching them. Both are absolutely disgusted with the appointment.

Not only is his entire footballing cv centred around doing whatever is best for Ryan Giggs, once he didn't get the Utd gig he's refused to prove himself at a smaller club, factor in his lack of commitment to Wales and then correlate that with the fact he had an affair with his brothers wife behind the back of his wife and kids...

Really has shown the qualities to hold the job at the apex of the Welsh footballing pyramid.

Wales pay peanuts for managers, one of the reasons Coleman left. He can earn more managing Sunderland than his country. Wales have a tradition of appointing inexperienced managers; Mark Hughes in his first job, Gary Speed after a short spell with us. It's quite a good introduction to management, I remember Speed being interviewed and saying he found it easier than managing us because in the league everything happens quickly and relentlessly whereas with Wales he had time to think and reflect.

It sounds like it. The impression I've got is that they chose him over O'Neill and then he changed his mind, by which time MON had got the arse on so they lost out on him too.

Their 'structure' has changed. They're owned by a bunch of speculative American 'investors' now. Probably another bunch of fuckwits wanking about the returns they've got this year without realising the club can get relegated.

Can't blame O'neill to be fair. It's a bit like being turned down for McDonalds then them ringing you back to say they've changed their minds.

Some of these "rich" people seem a bit thick at times.

We're all thick, just some are thicker than others. I've yet to meet anyone who can truthfully say they've never done anything stupid or never made a bad decision. Success increases confidence and many people become rich from high risk behaviours, which has panned out for them, so they just keep doing it until their luck runs out. It's not so much stupidity as human nature.

I wasn't being facetious and don't intend to deliberately offend anyone. He was obviously a tormented soul and as soon as the hurly burly of full time professional football disappeared it seems his demons came back.
I think most people will read it as being facetious, whatever your intention.
