Having this central midfield pool to choose from...

Fleck
Duffy
Leonard
Lundstrum
Brookes
Holmes
Evans
and Coutts later on.

There must surely be a winning combination from these boys for a strong finish to the season.

i think brooks will be used up front rather than behind the strikers

If we bring Holmes it could always give us option to play wingers or possibly two no10’s behind striker like Spurs do!
Brooks/ Duffy;
Brooks/ Holmes;
Duffy/ Holmes;

Cannot mention squad depth on here not while the Wendies are searching.

They only had 2 attacking players injured. Hooper and Lee and without them they thought forget it let’s defend.

We have brooks and Coutts out and we charge forward.

There demise over the last 6 months has been outgrageous.

I think to much is going into midfield when we aren't scoring and were going to be needing a couple in defence to.

I really hope you're right because if Duffy cannot get in we are going to have an exciting second half of the season, if your team starts the bench looks strong, Duffy, Brooks and others coming on would be brilliant

I'm really excited about the second half of the season mate . This JTW has been better than I'd hoped . Our 3 new permanent signings are big improvements on what we already have .

Bashams been brilliant for us and as selfless club players go it's hard to imagine better than him . But Leonard is different class . He's athletic , strong , has great pace can go box to box all day long and is a very talented footballer .

Likewise Lunny. He's been superb since he came in and the mental fortitude he's displayed since Coutts was injured has been magnificent . But Evans is a top quality addition . He has all of the attributes that Lunny has and more . He's top notch when it comes to dead ball distribution and crucially when he's pulling the strings for us going forward he has a Coutts like ability to create angles for the killer ball in .

As for Holmes I just remember how he played against us at the Lane last season . We really struggled to hold him all of the game .

The only one I'm not exactly enamoured with at the moment is Wilson . To be fair to the guy though I've not seen much of him .

We need to find the best one to play alongside Fleck but it's going to be difficult giving them all opportunities. A lot will have to be based on training. Even then, it's hard to drop anyone if they're playing well. If Lundstram's 7/10 every week but we're not getting results will Evans come in for him? Hard call.

It's going to be as difficult rotating Holmes, Duffy and Brooks with each other and the strikers. Brooks and Holmes either side of Clarke is a good balance but then what about Duffy and Donaldson/Sharp/Wilson?

I just have a feeling Leonard isn't earmarked for a midfield role as he'll be replacing Basham at RCB

Simple as.

Not saying Evans is the answer but how come we can't get him match fit in six months, why was the operation done so late, can't believe he wasn't ready for the 2nd derby.

Ched already said that the injury he picked up whilst at Chezzy was never resolved and he still had it when he came here, hence struggling to get match fit. Then when it became clear the issue was getting worse and he needed an operation, we lost other strikers through injury so Ched put his hand up to play despite needing an operation. Wilder admitted that he couldn't say no to him when he's showing the attitude he wants from all his players. So he had his operation once a few strikers came back to fitness and is still recovering

No way is Basham losing his starting place this season. Leonard's more likely to go in at RWB than RCB this season.

It'll be quite revealing when we make the next central midfield substitution. If Evans gets the nod I might start thinking Leonard's been brought in as much for other positions as CM.

I've the same feeling too and it excites me given the ammount of ball our overlapping centre backs get in attacking positions could be a great option to have someone with pace and a good shot joining the attacks

If the service improves perhaps then we can get Billy back in the team. He doesn’t become a bad player overnight, he’s a proven finisher.

It seems a logical progression for the team for me . If Leonard isn't played in this role it also begs the question of why when finance is tight would we spend a relatively large amount of cash on 2 midfielders when just 1 is injured ?

It makes sense to have someone in there who can play all four roles on that right hand side
Need more quality than we've been getting from the quartet of baldock/bash/lundstram and ccv when he's been picked
Give teams something else to worry about instead of a shot cross into a crowded box
