If he can do all those things then winner.....although it’s nagging me somewhat that he’s hasn’t been picked up by someone else earlier if he ticks all those boxes. However, I suspect that he’s a player which Wilder sees as a work In progress like Lundstram.
As with any player taken into a higher level for the first time, he will need time to bed in. I agree with you that Wilder may see him as a work in progress, but when he has reached the levels that Wilder requires I reckon you will have a a very decent player in your squad. I just hope Ron has got some decent add ons sorted in the deal.

We’d never buy anyone though, based on your final paragraph. It’s a bit Catch 22 isn’t it?

No, I’m hoping it’s because the lad has made it clear he wants to come to us, rather than others looking at him and deciding he wasn’t worth the fee. It’s not like he has been plucked from obscurity, he’s been their best player for some time and scored a few goals, so other clubs will have looked at him for sure.
Could be that all the championship clubs have been pre occupied in the foreign market and ex premier league players that nobody has jumped in yet.
Guess the only way we will know I said if he pulls on the jersey and does the job for us.

Just in case there's a strike at Roygbiv and we do get him
The view from the other SUFC

Waiting for confirmation, but what a great player and lad who will be hard to replace. Its been terrific to watch him develop. Anyway Lendog it shouldnt take you too long to settle in Sheffield, one of our great cities and the people are wonderfully friendly! plenty to do there and not to far to all that lovely Peak district for walks and a lemonade in a local overlooking some beautiful countryside, Enjoy Len and a million thanks for all your efforts !!

He's been great for us and deserves a shot at playing a higher level. His attitude since the summer disappointment of not being able to move has been that of a model professional, he put the disappointment aside and has given his all. Truly deserves plaudits from all our fans, he'll be fondly remembered here, good luck Lenny!

Sad news if true, great player and great guy. All the best

A fantastic, loyal servant to the club who always gave 100% I wish him well in the future
.
Best of luck to the guy if true and if what he wants. Personally, I will be upset to hear he has gone but he deserves a chance

Leonard has been our best player for a while now
Fantastic servant and professional. We are in trouble with him in the team....without him

Him and Coker are the two most reliable players, performance-wise over the last 3 or 4 seasons. Always put 100% in and be a huge loss.

Not sure he'll cut in in the Championship. Gives the ball away too much. He'll be on loan at Oxford next season.

I reckon he'll be Blade by end of today and go straight into tomorrow's team.
Didn't Wilder say something about a cut off point being the weekend as it will mean he'll be cup-tied? Says to me Wilder wants him in for the Ipswich game and to start the game.

Reg docs have to be done by 5.00pm or somat don't they? If he's travelling up to Sheffield as we write I don't see the contract signed and sent off before 5.00pm, if he hasn't had his medical

His sophistry when Lenny did indeed put in a transfer request but was persuaded by Ron to withdraw it, was unctuous and unworthy. I suspect he’s hand in glove with “senior sources” and does as he’s told. Not quite Woodward and Bernstein, is he?
I have tried not to react, but I just can't resist..............some infrequently used words in that post Pinchy, carefully crafted and delivered with brevity. Spoiled, however, with the reference to Woodward and Bernstein, as I don't have a clue who they are, and to look them up would ruin the weight of your reference. The other glaring flaw in your summation is that it is only your view, not fact, and therefore total bollocks in my view. A belated Happy New Year by the way, mate.:)

I'm not judge
If a person has been banned they are not allowed to open another account

If you were found to have done so you would be instantly banned

So wether you like me or don't constantly dredging up the fact you think I'm another poster who has been banned just seems to me to be a rather cowardly and snide way of getting rid if someone who you don't agree with

I'd expect from a lowlife like w(e)althy but thought better of you

Stop being so sensitive, I thought better of you. I'm confident if there was a good reason to ban anyone, it would be done.

And I don't even know why judge was banned, I enjoyed his posts.

Night and day difference compared to the Oxford fans comments when they lost John Lundstrum.

Southend fans are sad to see their captain (Leonard) go, acknowledge he’s a very good player but wish him luck.
Whilst Oxford fans say their captain (Lundstrum) is overrated and a bit shit, glad to see the back of him.

So is he in Sheffield like my mate has alluded to?

Why not meet the team at the hotel in Ipswich for his medical, all they need is a table for him to sit on,and a wooden hammer to test his knee,no need to come all the way up to Sheffield

The fans who said Wilder was a shit manager who played hoofball?
I’m inclined to think Oxford fans might be a bit clueless, so any reference to any player from them needs to be considered as inaccurate to be fair.

Bit harsh to criticise the local journos.
They have no option to toe the party line or they are out. Cant bite the hand that feeds them
It's why recently at the Sty there's was no mention of pigs CEO colourful past or anything ever about dodgy Doyen Sports Investments.
Fans forums often more informed on such matters.

Apart from it being your place of work

Because after all the hassle we have had with this lad, any signing will be paraded with the obligatory shirt pic in front of the Kop!
Plus, if he’s away from Southend and in Sheffield less chance that Ron might but in and change his mind.

First game isn’t at a higher level - it’s against mud wallowers.

So, what have we done to sweeten the deal across the line then?
Anyone care to speculate?

Perhaps a loan of one of our younger players will have been added in. Slater? Whiteman?
Straight swap with Samir?

It is no secret that Meire was an unpopular figure during her three-year stint at the Valley. Along with controversial Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet, she was heavily criticised for her role in the club’s ownership. Supporters protested against Meire and Duchatelet. The 33-year-old, a lawyer by trade, also fell out with Charlton supporters after labelling them “customers” before the club slipped out of the Championship in 2016.

Not sure if there's any truth in the rumour doing the rounds - that we offered to fund Mester Ronald getting the "Full Michael Vaughan" in an effort to push the deal over the line?
