I've had that, and anybody else who's had it knows it's an absolute fucker. Proper knocks the stuffing out of you. I had it badly as a teenager and had 2 months off school.

Big miss for the derby and beyond. Hopefully he recovers fast.

My brother had it and from that experience I think he’ll miss most of the rest of the season through it, if not all of it, feel for the lad and our bad luck.

Bit weird to suddenly become Glandular Fever when it was originally tonsilitis.

Hope we're not going to be adding glandular fever/tonsilitis to flu and sunstroke.

A measure of the great man that he played and scored in a few matches whilst suffering from the as yet undiagnosed illness, and then put in one hell of a shift v the pigs on his return and scored the winner through the bow legged wonder that was Chris Woods. I wonder if holding him back for the Derby was a clever bit of management from Bassett, as I seem to recall his appearance in the starting XI was a real surprise. Wednesday certainly weren't ready for him.

Poor old Deano actually played with it when we lost at Oldham 2-1 with nine men for most of the game but it hadn't been diagnosed. He even scored our goal, no wonder he could barely walk at the end of the match. What a player and next time we saw him, as you say, he nutmegged Christopher Wooden legs.

Not at all. They can think it's tonsillitis, but when it's still severely painful and hasn't shifted then they take another look and diagnose properly. Same happened to me.

It’s not weird. Tonsillitis is often a symptom of Glandular fever. Mine started with it then BANG 6months off college wanking.
