If you want to wear a shirt we never wear and probably never will again get yourself down.
Been quite bizarre, don’t think we’ve worn it since Sunderland have we? Could’ve worn it yesterday, at forest, at burton but we’ve opted for the dodgy white shirt or the Home strip.

Quite a weird situation having an away strip we literally never put on.

Ah much duz that tek it t?

Didn't think it was a bad kit.

I wonder if the players and/or Wilder have said they prefer the white one? It could even be a superstitious thing!

I hope not, we’ve only won once in the thing and even then we ended up with a season turning broken leg for our troubles!

Considering 14 teams in this league wear predominantly red or blue, to pick a colour somewhere between the 2 of them as an away kit was a pretty daft choice really. A good solid yellow with burgundy trim would have been my choice.

Still can’t understand why that stops us wearing it at Forest and Burton though. It’s peculiar.

One of the nicest away kits I've ever known. With the added bonus of pissing off all those stupid cunts who think it's blue.

I'm sure we have a nice luminous glow-in-the-dark yellowy green effort in the pipeline for next season though....

...y'know....just for a change.

They did the same with the black one too. Seems a bit harsh to advertise and sell an away kit which is then practically changed after only being worn in matches on a hadful of occasions.

I don't care for the kit personally, I see it has the club trying to please the sponsor, since teletext holiday or whoever has purple branding.

That's my beef too with this, I bought three full kits for the kids in good faith at the start of the season and they've hardly been used. When I say to them to wear them more they reply 'well United don't so we don't want to'. Fair enough and what's my argument? United really seem to have decommissioned this kit and I think that's unfair when fans buy in good faith.

Anyone with the purple shirt should be able to go to the lane shop and get a white away shirt FOC

Genuine question, does it matter how many times the team have worn it? It’s still a Blades shirt. If anything, makes it rarer :)
Well it's a bit weird to bring out an away kit then stop wearing it after september in favour of our third kit.

Maybe the club have discontinued it due to the number of fans complaining at it being blue?

Bit of trivia and probably means nowt in the scheme of things but the white kit is very similar to the one worn by the first team Wilder was involved with, Bradway F.C.

From a playing point of view, I'd prefer to wear white or bright yellow/lime/orange because it makes it easier to pick out your own players to pass to. I'd be against darker colours, particularly black for that reason. The worst example being that grey Man Utd kit which they ditched for that very reason.

Having said that, I do like the purple kit and bought one at full price.

Nice shirt - will wait until it's down to a tenner though :)

We'll wear probably wear it at Brentford. They have black shorts so unless we wear all white, I imagine we'll see it then.

We wore it 2 weeks ago at Preston.

Its a version of Uniteds regular white shirt and black socks which we had in the 70's and under Harry in the 90's and again with Warnock in the 2000's - see below. Always makes a decent away kit I think.
