here's another stat regards Jake Wright

Started 11 games so far this year. United have 25 points from those games. Conceded 13
Not started games. United have 12 points from those games. Conceded 13

Not sure what to make of that .

Wright's defeats are the Leicester cup game and the league defeats vs Norwich and Fulham.

I've said before that I think Wilder's main reason for preferring Stearman in the last two games was to cope better with the aerial threats of Millwall and Bristol City.

Our next opponents don't have similar aerial ability, so if Stearman keeps his place it will be because Wilder's happy with his last couple of performances.

Is that the same feeling as clicking someone’s reply to you hoping for something witty or insightful, and instead being greeted by your shit time after time? :tumbleweed:

Bit of a mardy arse aren't you. Don't blame me for your employer and their output being shit much of the time. It's not Stalinist Russia so I can pass comment as much as I want, you don't work at Pravda, even if you chose to defend it at every opportunity like some clapping seal. The Star isn't that popular anymore. Live with it.

How quickly did you neck the wine to go from a fairly stable post, to that, in about 10 mins? :)

It was one of those ‘perfectly sober after ten pints but blotto at the first sip of the eleventh’ moments, to put it in beer terms. I think someone put some GHB in my glass to be honest. I hope he/she enjoyed it...

Stearman was marking a dwarf against Bristol Cities! Wilder thinks he’s better than Wright. That’s why he bought him. That’s why RS was selected for the first game ahead of Jake when both fit and on even terms. It really is that simple.

You are probably correct that Stearman is a better player than Wright, not by much mind - Stearman doesn't make the team better though.

He will continue to make our defence very very ordinary..........ie: the way it's heading at the moment.

Stearman marked Nathan Baker, a big centre half at corners:

For free kicks, we tend to use zonal marking, which is all about lining up your biggest players and trusting each of them to have enough height, strength and anticipation to get their head on the ball.

Stearman may do well if he keeps his place, but he's been a bit sloppy with his positioning both against Millwall (2nd goal) and Bristol City (winner).

Wilder on leaders:

Couttsy usually took the armband when Billy wasn’t playing or came off,” he explained. “Obviously that’s not going to happen for the foreseeable but there’s no shortage of people capable of doing it.

Bash (Chris Basham) has done it before and so has Jack (O’Connell). To be honest, if you look at the players we’ve got here and their characters, other than the young lads like Jamal Blackman, David Brooks and Cameron Carter-Vickers, you could choose any of them. Stears (Richard Stearman) is that type of bloke and so is John Fleck. Don’t forget John Lundstram was also captain at Oxford before coming here.”

No mention of our Jake!!! Another indication that our idiot manager prefers Stearman. How much longer are we going to stand for this?

To the car park, Shakey Jakies, to the car park...

You really need to see someone about your Jakophobia.

If it's any help, my good lady wife Arabella has a friend who is married to a specialist in dealing with such conditions and I am sure he would be able to assist you.

Good player. Good servant. Good pro. Future at United very limited. Quite right too. We’re moving on.

Tufty’s decision, not mine. Blame him, Shakey Jakies.

As I said above .......

Wright has been brilliant for us over the last 18 months however there becomes a point where you have to slowly faze him out of the team for Stearman (which Lord Chrissy is doing at the moment). If the report was true about the fee we payed then why would we spend about £900,000 for a bench player when we arent able to compete with the rest of the champs funds? Let's be realistic, Stearman has both championship and premier league experience and has always been that calming influence in defence (which we will need when we will have ccv in for fleck). Also we need to give the lad a chance instead of doing what some did for lunny. Also he has only really just come back from injury. So just let the man do his job please instead of trying to slate someone for making a few mistakes at his new club. Also we are questioning someone's decisions in Wilder who was more knowledge about football than an of us combined.

You are right about Wright - but Stearman is sadly not the replacement.

To move on as you write - it won't be Stearman that can get/hold us in a top 2 position. There's a reason why Wolves didn't want a 29 year old. He is what we are becoming - an average, mid table Championship player and his performances have shown that and will continue to show that.
