Going take some clawing back now, 10 points in front of us now in no time at all, only a couple of weeks ago we had them back in 2nd!!

Wolves will win the league at a canter. Between Cardiff and Probably Villa for second.

Whether we will be one of the other three to make the playoffs depends on January.

Do you think Wilder and Knill will be thinking this? Will they have thrown in the towel and we're only just into December?

Keep telling yourself we're not going to get automatic and we won't.

Wolves the best team I've seen this year. Ignore them and just concentrate on what we can do and let what happens in terms of league position happen

Have faith. We had wobbles last year and won the league comfortably. Wolves are good at the moment, but we beat them without too much trouble. We will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season and we won't bottle it like some of our neighbours if we are in with a shout. Onwards and upwards. We had misfortune at the beginning of the season. Then good fortune. Now we have some bad luck. CWAK will sort it and good fortune will return. Wait with patience. Just believe and enjoy the moment. So much better than the last 6 years.

"We had wobbles last year and won the league comfortably " , we also had Coutts last year mate !!!

Ha. Bang average sides. Shek thi sen.
Fulham are possibly better than average when they turn it on, but how on Earth can you consider Birmingham or Millwall anything more than bang average? They are POOR.

Well said that man!

Blimey! It doesn't take much for some of our fans to throw the towel in does it? We fail to win in 3 games and it's all over eh? Let me share a bit of wisdom with some of you doubters, because I've been here before and I know how it goes...kind of...

I think there's often a couple of teams who stick around the top 2 for most of the season and they're a good bet to go up. Sometimes there's a third or fourth team that interplays with the top 2 and may replace one of them. And occasionally there's a "late-breaker" that comes storming up the table from nowhere and gets into the play offs. But at this stage of the season, approaching Christmas, the trifle of the top 6 is beginning to set.

There is another phenomenon though which I haven't touched on yet. I call it the "Snark" syndrome, after Lewis Carroll's wonderful rhyme about the mythical creature in "The Hunting of The Snark".
In his opioid induced ramblings, Carroll introduces us to the "Snark", which, if of a certain variety, can cause someone to "softly and suddenly vanish away". Quite often, in football, there is a Snark moment when a team that has been at or near the top of the table, suddenly, inexplicably, softly and suddenly vanishes away. I have to tell you also, that a certain team called Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been guilty of this many times over the years.

Whilst some of us are looking at Wolves and thinking..."no way anyone is going to catch them", others of us have such long memories that we can remember not only three weeks ago when we were top of the table but can also remember Wolves having lots of Snark moments over the years gone by. I'm sure their fans aren't as confident that they will stay there as some of ours seem to be.

From what I have seen of this Sheffield United side I think we will keep on going at it, hammer and tongs, all season. I think we are a very good side at this level. I think the biggest downside for me is that we just don't have enough pace in the team. The possession football is brilliant, and some of our passing, wow! fantastic! But it takes us an absolute age to mount an attack. Death by a thousand cuts! If only we could "step on the gas" a bit and rip into teams, catch them out unexpectedly, rather than this slow machine that grinds its way upfield and then tries to find the master pass to unlock the defence, 10 of whom are filling the 18 yard box.

To fix that we need some incoming - and I think we'll get it. It won't be of the magnitude that Wolves have spent - but we have shown so far that it isn't necessary. Just hold the nerve a bit longer chaps will you? Nothing, but nothing, is certain yet, for anyone.

Let's see how far ahead Wolves are in two months, after the Portuguese front line have experienced winter in the UK. We'll see if they still fancy it then.

I would still be happy with finishing 21st, and I'm still treating anything else as a pleasant bonus.

In six long and tortuous years in the fucking pub league, it did teach me one thing, to be realistic with my expectations and aspirations. I stuck it out for those years and I've attended the last three matches, and during the wilderness years I saw a lot, lot worse on a more regular basis.

Just try and beat Brizzle on Friday and take it from there, they will be thinking the same. Just keep pressure on 2nd place and see what happens. Both Wolves and Cardiff will blip at some point and one of the chasing pack will need to capitalise. That may or may not be us as we are in worst form of any top 6 side at the moment but really anyone from Derby up is still in with a shout of the autos.
It would be nice to have clawed back 3 or 4 points from the top 2 by Chriatmas though.

fine margins
weve both played birmingham

wolves werent as good as we were against them ,but Birmingham hit their goal of the season against us with their only shot

so we get a draw and one point and because Birmingham didnt take a punt wolves got 3, despite not being that impressive

long long way to go yet
wolves will hit a dip ,
as will Cardiff

the 5 scored by fulham is being over utilised in stats to show how poor we are now
it was an entertaining 1 goal defeat we were not slaughtered

I believe Wolves will hit 100 Points easily, or they should at least at this rate, but everyone has a blip and they're yet to have theirs so who knows

Disagree with that. Fulham tonked us and the late rally by us only flattered to deceive. That should have been a wake up call. Much of the debate surrounding our defence has been Stearman vs Wright. There seems to be a strange fixation with the latter amongst some of our fans but the reality is that neither of them are going to take us forward at this level. Someone nailed it on another thread - we need to find another Morgan type to anchor the centre of our defence otherwise the leak could become a torrent.

We’ve defended like twats lately but it's nowt that Can not be corrected.
There’s a few on here with memories like goldfish and immediately return to thier depressing default
setting. From casting individuals as scapegoats to bigging up other teams and then there’s the towel throwing
bubble bursting brigade who make Marvin look like mr happy.
If I’ve learnt owt over the last season and a half it is that Wilder and his players will sought it,if they don’t we are into new territory.
Tight game on Friday but Blades to edge it after Wilders roasting.

I strongly suspect that whatever Harry's Game tells himself about our promotion chances will have very little bearing on the final outcome. the majority had no expectations of being up there to date yet it happened. Posters on a messageboard won't determine our results.

To be honest, I'm just glad we aren't below the cunts at S6, and staving off relegation.

Well done Wilder, Knill and the lads. For the moment, I'm in happy-clap land simply because we have already exceeded expectations. Sure, I'll be disappointed if we finish outside the top six this season, but if Coutts's injury shows us anything, it's that we are in no fucking manner ready for Premiership football. What would be worse than going up, sitting expectatntly waiting for our new found fortunes to turn into dust some next summers TW and for us to be goosefatted by all and sundry, with a humiliating high-score defeat every month to one of the top six?

Slowly, surely. Step-by-step.

By the way, get your hand in your pocket in the JTW, McCabe. Our mission (if anything) this season is not to let those cunts overtake us or have their massacre revenge next year.

Cardiff will have their blip when Colin does his annual "I want a new contract" rant and threatens to leave for somewhere else.

I don't think starting yet another snipe at Warnock is going to help our cause.

Wolves the best team I've seen this year. I

They are behind Fulham and Brentford, for me.

Given what they have spent, they are not streets ahead of everyone else and I'm sure they will have their own dodgy patch soon. That said, 10 points is a lot to catch up so I do think they will claim one of the automatic places.

Fulham yes, Brentford no, we were just a bit cagey on that occasion with it being the first game. Agree with the rest though.

they took advantage of us pushing forward, with some class break aways and we dominated th last 20 minutes so I disagree with your assessment, if it stayed 5-2 theyd have tonked us but games last 90 minutes and we could have got a point ,easily or a win we had enough chances more than they had
