Is he finally getting dropped on Friday then? He’s been torn to bits 3 games on the trot.

How he wasn’t dropped today or especially Birmingham is beyond me.

He does need a break I think, looked nervy ever since that howler against Fulham.

A back three is a difficult role to play, not everyone is suited to it, last season we lucked onto three players who it suited perfectly in JOC, Wright, and Basham.

I think when Wilder signed Stearman and CCV I think he was expecting to be playing a back four in quite a few away games this season.

Basham right wing back simply doesn’t work.
And if you knew anything about Carruthers you’d know he used to play right mid. If he learns to work back he could actually make a decent emergency wing back.

I was right then too.

He was absolutely dogger after signing that contract with Wolves. Hence why he’s in and out of a mid table league one side now.

I don’t think he’s the best option, but when the first choice two are out we need to find a better option than bringing Basham out wide

Carruthers did sort of play wing back when he came on last week.

Sadly, the ONLY answer to Basham at WB is Baldock (1st) and Freeman (2nd)

Experimenting with Carruthers would be just that.

Baldock will play v Bristol.............the main talking point is now the back 3 - and one of them is definitely JOC and more than likely Basham.

Basham put in three good crosses today that Billy would have been on to. His defensive work was sound.

What it did mean is that we don't have Bash in the middle which is the biggest problem.

He was a very good player for a time, got us on the right track and was exactly what we needed, his head went after the contract and he quickly became a liability hence why we looked at our best with Bash/Wright/JOC.

I think Bash was better today as an attacking threat than his last two games but for me he’s a central player. No one else in our team can play RCB.
