There have been accusations of some fans being of the prawn sandwich enjoying type. I presume this means those to whom Roy Keane referred, that is to say the nouveau-clappy sort who haven't been attending Blades games since Tony Currie was a mere sperm in shorts. Well, if we do get those fans at the Lane then so what? They might not have a clue and clap aimlessly, but if somebody is paying for their ticket, even it it's a sponsor, then at least the club is getting money from them.

As for them posting on football forums, including this one, then I don't really think they do. Posters on here tend to be the die-hard fans who go home and away, not missing many, like Linz or Foxy, Keenzy, The One and many more. Some are those like me - a season ticket holder who doesn't get to many away games because I've got a wife and child who like to see me some weekends. Others are exiles, like Come From Away in Canada, a keen Blade but unable to attend until every home match until United run private jets from Canada for £25 a seat. Does that make him less of a fan, because he only comes to a few matches a season, or more of a fan because he comes halfway round the planet to watch his beloved Blades? I'd say more....

There have also been accusations of those who don't always disagree with the way the club is run are "happy clappers", as if the only way you can truly support your club is to constantly criticise. There have also been accusations of a clique, which if that means a group of friends who get along and like to meet up for a drink or two (dozen) then that's true.

But no member's opinion is more valid than another's. We can all post works of genius, as I often do, and works of utter ridiculousness, which I also like to do. But if you can't stand an opinion that isn't the same as yours then perhaps interweb forums aren't for you.

There are people who don't like the way this site is run. I don't like other sites, and that's why you don't see my name on several of the United fan site's members lists, and why I don't post on the others much.
I do however like this site, and the people who run it. So if that makes me "cliquey" then that's a title I can live with.

Good post SV:D

I never knew you could speak so much sense.

It's the same old story... people are quick to criticise the service we provide but when you tell them that there are plenty of other places they can go to, they don't want to know.

Here's a list of places people can post who don't like us and are all too keen to tell us:

http://www.bladesunited.org

http://www.unitedite.co.uk

http://www.blades-mad.co.uk

I trust you will find what you want there.

If you want to stick around with the way we do things, by all means, be my guest. Give me sensible feedback and I will give you a response.

Bitch and whine and make yourself out to be a martyr, I'm not interested.

Sorry.

I don't like Prawns.

I really can't stand the fishy shits...

They have untrustworthy beady eyes, bits dangling all over the place... crunchy legs etc etc

I hate them with a passion.

i like prawns particulary in a stir fry, also i'm partial to a nice prawn cocktail although not with too much sauce

people shouldn't hate prawns......it's just wrong

hate ketchup instead......that needs hating

I like ketchup...

That means you're not toeing the party line.

We never want to see you around here again.

;)

is that the visible panty line ?

if so i will toe but i still wont eat ketchup its horrid and smells :p

never a truer word spoken!!!

Im a ST holder, dont get to hardly any away games, would love to go to all, but its just not gonna happen.

I like ketchup, and i like prawns, i dont like ketchup on prawns and i dont like prawn sandwiches.

What i do like is FREE BEER & FREE FOOD, all of which is in plentiful supply when i get an invite to a corperate function to the match. Much like when i go to the Forest Game. If that make me a sellout, then put a label around my kneck and i shall be named as such!!!!!

shall we put the label on a piece of string or a ribbon ?

Sorry.

To be honest i regularly read what is on here, and there is a lot of stuff i don't paticularly agree with, but hey ho, shit happens and i try not to get too involved when i don't agree with stuff what it is written on her, and try and stay within the boundaries of what i want to talk about and what's not really relevent to me.

I think at times this site can be a bit of a clique but then again i post regularly on barrel of money and to be honest i'm a more prominent member of a clique on there. Prehaps being cliquey on a message board is a sign of establishing good friendships rather than anything more sinister. For example i never knew Marshy (who some of you may or may not know) who i attend all the home games with until he i met up with a group of people on a message board and he ended up coming to the games with me and my mates and we have good friends now.

Although i might not like some of the content on here and some of the tone of it, i think it is a well run forum, and there is still a lot of good well thought out stuff on here which make it worth visiting and reading and i generally enjoy my visits to this site without getting overly involved with it all

im ignored all over the place...at home too...do i care nah...but i do likes it here. I've been invited as have everyone to join in the drinks, or forum footy and whatnot. I'm just a chubby bugger who doesn't like talking to many new people in person, but never felt out of place here.

Some of my favourites post regulary and can take a joke, like shoreham, keenzy and whats the blokes name now....i forget... ahh the one...seems a right dodgy get he does....but whoever is bitching, see that X in the corner...press it and don't bother.

I'm not too keen on Ketchup but like prawns, but can't stand treacle pudding, so that makes me...... impossible to live with, well thats my wifes opinion at least.

As for cligues, I like Verve Clique champagne if any one wants to buy me a drink.

Keep the faith, there is room for everyone in cyber world, even me!!!!

Not sure about toe fetish though linz, ah well each to their own.

look at me! 2 mentions in a thread :D go me!

Scampi fri autumn? ;)

:D:D:D

Scampi Fri Brigade? That'd be awesome.

I'm a dodgy get:D

Walkers Prawn Cocktail Crisps.
A most evil invention.

nah, I hate prawns, but prawn cocktail crisps are good :D

Similarly, I hate onions, but onion ring crisps are the win!

That's thing though... people tend to find their "homes" and stay there. No problem with that whatsoever. If the boards were all the same then what's the point in having them?

We set this place up because we didn't feel at home on any of the other boards so it's bound to be different and like I always say, we appreciate feedback both positive and negative and will instigate changes if they appeal to the majority.

We open up all meets to everyone on the board and they come and say hello if they want. They don't get treated any differently if they do or don't though.

What I do have a problem with is people coming on here and acting as though they're doing us a favour by doing so.

Frankly, they aren't, and I wish they'd save us the bandwidth :D

Spot on Linz. The BU board is the worst for me and it has some right smugs so and sos and it seems to be split into factions all the time who will argue just for the sake of it, and often ignore decent posts because they don't fit their own agenda.

We started the South Yorkshire Football forum so that fans of all the local clubs who like a bit of banter or serious debate can do so without having to put up with some of the trash you get on some of the other boards, and by and large (with a couple of exceptions that I'm keeping my eyes on) ;) , I think that we've managed it.

No scampi fries then???

I'd smell like i've been down a......

dock :D

but they are nice with a bit of lemon...how common do i sound? :o

On the topic note, I find linz says what I think on most things, every forum has its mates and more clicky people, but at least here they do welcome new comers and it's easier to get in the mix.
