I too have had a double fracture as a result of a tackle (1974), was out 8 months.

I suppose you’d like to think that, but in my experience, even in a split second, when you’re playing football, you know exactly where your foot is going to make contact with your opponent.
That doesn’t mean he intended to inflict such serious damage, but sorry I don’t buy your misjudgement theory either.

I know what you mean. I think he's left his foot in there. But he's not generating force is he? Let's be perfectly honest, this is a saintly challenge compared to Morgan on Hume. I think it's an awful tackle. But you can't infer intent to break a limb.

Let’s hope it’s a clean break & he’ll be back for next season in the Prem.
Looks a poor challenge as it’s high & late & he’s not even looking. So in my book it’s dangerous & he needs dealing with after the event.
We now have an extra reason to press on & get promotion. Faith in Mr Wilder & a talented, flexible squad to deal with a big loss. Can’t replace him but can work out a way to keep winning without him.

Saw it at full speed on I follow - Coutts took a shot / sordell tried to block with a strikers challenge and they connected with the force of coutts shot.

Just awful horrific bad luck but not an over the top challenge or anything malicious . One of those unfortunate things which has hit our most pivotal player. But hopefully we can struggle through and look to replacements in jan if lundstram / basham / whoever. don't quite cut it.

I’ve just seen it on the highlights and although it’s a bad tackle I don’t think it was intentional. A really late tackle but it was a case of Coutts being caught on the follow through whilst having a shot. On another day it would have been studs down the shin and a sore leg for a few days.

I still fell sick to the pits though, let’s hope it’s a clean break and he can resume his career where he left off. Two career threatening injuries is more than enough for any player.
