Cheers Roy. They definitely fuckin hate us and are still going on about 2008!!. Hull is another example of depression in solid form full of wank stain people. Let's smash the cunts!!.

Refreshingly bitter. But I can't be too harsh on them after they did this for us.

“March 10th ? 1971 Sheffield United 1 Hull City 2. The Battle of Bramall Lane. Sheff U first home defeat of the season, record crowd, three sided ground. I was there.”

“They reckon we kicked em off the park that night, bless em.”

They certainly did that - Ken Knighton should have been put in a cage in Whipsnade Zoo after that disgraceful show........
.

The teams for that night were; John Hope, Len Badger, Ted Hemsley, David Powell, Eddie Colquhoun, Trevor Hockey, Alan Woodward, David Ford, Bill Dearden, TC, Gil Reece, sub : Geoff Salmons.
Hull: Ian McKechnie, Bill Baxter, Roger DeVries, Billy Wilkinson, Terry Neill (player-manager), Chris Simpkin, Malcolm Lord, Ken Knighton (later to play for Wendy), Chris Chilton, Ken Wagstaff, Ian Butler.

And they think we consider them rivals??!!

For a good while they were. There was a time (70/71, 81/82, 83/84, 05/06) where our "rivalry" with them played a key part in our promotion seasons. The reason they hate us so much boils down to us, maybe losing a battle or two, but winning the war on virtually every occasion. Add Keith Edwards to the equation and countless games, especially at Boothferry, where major trouble broke out and their acrimony is perfectly understandable.

I would image everyone who was there for the original BOBL in '71 has similar feelings toward them. I know me and my mates do!

As I have previously pointed out whenever the 1971 Battle of Bramall Lane crops up on here, the two main thugs/perpetrators were Simpkin and Knighton. Knighton was soon punished for his part in it by having to go and play for Wednesday but Simpkin had to wait rather longer before justice was done:

I remember Knighton's thuggish behaviour that night but also thought Bill Baxter was just as bad. Hull had signed both Knighton and Baxter that month from Blackburn and Ipswich respectively.

I always thought that Terry Neill had bought them just for the sole purpose of causing all that damage against us.

Anyway it all worked out in the end.

Be good to sing "You're getting Mauled by the Alems" with strange arm movements at them tomorrow in response to that embarrassing video, but then again I'd rather just watch Wilders team hammer this tinpot club and move on to another victory and not make myself look like a nob. (see video)

Where has this sense of grandeur come from? They've had a pretty successful decade bank rolled by a guy who has had enough. They are going to slide back into the 3 and 4th tiers of English football, like a Bradford, Wigan and other rugby league towns have done before when the owners realise its not sustainable.

That's marginally better than the Pigs bouncing.

Stupid point but what I don’t get about Hull is if we call Newcastle upon Tyne ‘Newcastle’, why do we call Kingston upon Hull ‘Hull’ and not ‘Kingston’?

Because the Jamaican city of Kingston with one of the highest murder rates in the world didn't want to share its name with that fishy smelling dump.
