“I’m disappointed in the team. I think we’ve been out fought, out battled. We didn’t make good decisions. They did to us what we’ve done to others. This was a reality check. We deserved this defeat.”

We did deserve to lose, they had numerous chances.Who am I to argue with the the man? but nobody deserves to lose to a goal like that.
If it was the 2nd or 3rd but for that to be the decider?! How poor can we really have been?
I also dont think we lacked desire and fight, some players just looked a little bit sloppy.

and we had a close goal disallowed and missed 2 sitters. We did deserve to lose, they had numerous chances.
No complaints about the result at all.

incredibly honest and correct, but i expect nothing else from the man
Did he say “I fucked up with the team selection”?
If he didn’t say something along those lines then he wasn’t very honest.
There's no doubt getting the lift of an early goal made it a difficult game we are still a team learning about this division ,bad night at the office we move on.Spot on for me. It was a close game and had we played as we can, it'd have been more in our favour. The line about 'They did to us what we’ve done to others' is bang on. They also did a Norwich for the last 15 and kicked, niggled and fell at every opportunity.
On the surface, you can see why people are questioning the starting 11 but it's not like CW/AK have set up to lose. They're VERY successful professionals who looked at the tools at their disposal and picked accordingly. You gotta say, without the freek goal, they didn't really offer many clear chances and on another night United's starting 11 would have been enough for at least a draw, maybe even a 0-2 win.
We lost to an unlucky goal and our keeper hasn’t made another save, from memory. Most of the play was in their half.
I think Wilder is using the defeat to kick the players up the arse. No way did we deserve to lose that one.
And we’d have been rightfully pleased with an away point.Fair, but we didn’t deserve to win it either.

You saw a different game to me fella.Given the performance yes, i’d have been fucking delighted.

Our standards have been raised somewhat, it seems.![]()
Not so sure the players may have been getting ahead of themselves but judging by recent pre-game predictions some fans expectations are a bit overconfident.Might just turn out to be a blessing in disguise this. Players and fans may just have been getting a bit too far ahead of ourselves. We’re still a newly promoted club and albeit we have made a great start we have to remember there aren’t any gimmes in this league.
QPR beat Wolves on Saturday so they’re no mugs on their home patch and yet there appeared to be a feeling from some of us at least that we just had to turn up and three points would follow. Well guess what!
If any of the players were carrying the same illusion I suspect they won’t make that mistake again.
In proportion though, just a loss and third in the table, who wouldn’t have taken that in August?

I know we've played some wonderful football at times and got some outstanding results and tbh I can't remember a time in my 46 yrs as a Blade where it's felt so good right through the club, especially after the end of season Scunny game which was only 18 months ago when all looked....well, proper phuked.
I think most people were looking at a season of consolidation and a finish of 10-12th position would've been perfectly acceptable in August, but we're not in August anymore and now we're a third of the way into the season and contrary to the usual shite grunterrings from S6, we haven't been found wanting and out of place..far from it.
Hence everyone's perspective has probably changed a touch, mine has also, whereas I would've been content with aforementioned 10-12 place finish I now hope that maybe with 2-3 good additions in January that top 6 is attainable.
Chris & Alans' arrival has been nothing short of incredible & everything we needed, the future does indeed seem bright...Red & White.
