Tony Cascarino just gave a huge amount of love to Wilder, and the blades (specifically Blackman, CCV, Sharp, Clarke and Duffy), before saying that he knows of two premier league clubs that have put in BIG bids for Brooks, before we turned them down and he signed a new contract.

We have been guilty of selling our best in the past, is this a sign that the tide is turning at the Lane?

Shows how much he's seen us then as it's Basham, O'Connell, Fleck & Coutts who are the real driving force...

Free lance presenter and columnist with a track record of fabricating his heritage, gives world exclusive.

In other news, dog bites man.

We'll all see in January. Brooks himself is saying the right things, depends whether his head is turned in which case we're better off cashing in than keeping an unhappy player and the bidding war can start. There's already figures of £10M being banded about and every night like last night will increase the already ridiculous modern day transfer values.

If I was a betting man , I'd reckon he'll stay and see where we are in the Summer. He looks like the type who would rather be playing than getting the odd Caribou cup game for Liverpool.

Back to the original question, yes, I think the tide has turned, we don't NEED to sell and seem more savvy these days in our transfer dealings.

The other presenters always wind up Cascarino when talking about us.

They always say he has “man love” towards Chris Wilder.
Cascarino never denies it saying that he’s been watching Chris’s career for several years
saying he always knew he was one of the top managerial talents in the country destined for the top.
Cascarino loves everything about Chris Wilder.

He never said they were the driving force, but he said that the way Wilder has turned Clarke in to the player he is, because he's been a bit of a journey man is amazing, and then said the way Duffy, Share and Clarke playing, you would ever think they are all over 30

So do I :)

He's a wonderful player, hopefully we keep him a long time.
Dare I say that he has a touch of the young Ryan Giggs about him. Pure class, takes a tackle, wins a freekick and gets back up safe in the knowledge that he’s got the better of his opponent. He thrives off it and whilst he might be seething inside, looks unruffled on the outside as he knows he’ll get a chance to do the same again

Needs to work on his goal celebration though ;)

No one wants to see our best players leave, but we all know that there are only 1 or 2 clubs in the world that don't sell their best players. Even Barcelona sold Neymar!

My biggest issue with United is that we get a £1m bid and think we've ripped off the buying club. Hopefully that is changing and if Brooks does leave we might be able to get a fee of £8m - £10m.

I’m arguing with myself about this for feck’s sake
Whatever the facts are that we don’t know, we do know is that he’s just got his first Senior goal & has just signed a belting contract for a young lad that is good for him & the club.
Both of those things mean that when the sniffers come, and they will, they’d better bring a shit load of cash.
Me - think he’s going nowhere in January.

Brooks hás been at a massive club .man city and hopefully has learnt that to get game time and progress he's in exactly the perfect place. A team that's a great opportunity to give him not only prem football but the game time he needs to learn his trade

I'd be pissed off with just £8-10m for the lad to be perfectly honest.

Expect him to stay till summer and see where we are. He's still young and hopefully signing a new long-term contract highlights that he values playing time and has given us the chance to get to the prem and play in the prem for us rather than go now and be loaned out or sat in the background of a bigger club.

The tide has turned but we’ve been used to swimming against it for so long that we have chronic muscle memory and can’t stop flapping.
Brookes ain’t daft he’s got a great chance to play in the prem next season,he’s got his own song and the fans adore him.
It’s a no brainier money wise for the board £10,000,000 now or £30,000,000 in the worlds biggest shop window next year.
Oh and 140 million just for going up.We look a good bet and the returns are astronomical.Brookes is staying.

his (Brooks ) post match iterview said it all , happy to have signed a 4 year contract and thrilled to have scored and more to come in the next few years,,,, with us, from his mouth

Yes, but Blackman and CCV are on loan from PREMIER LEAGUE clubs.

And not any PL clubs, but LONDON clubs.

They're the absolute pinnacle of world football and the world in general so they must be our best players and it's only fair that he mentions them.

8-10 million in this transfer market?

There would be meltdown on here if we only got that for him.

It was my old fellas first game of the season last night (boy did he choose a doozy!!) and he couldn't get over how good Fleck was/is.

Fuck all this media hype, he's our key man.

£20m is the new minimum for Brooks.

I'm confident our owners will see it that way too.

It’s all down to economics, always has been.

People have criticised some of the sales in the past but they all had sound business sense.’
The landscape is totally different now.

In league 1, if a player isn’t playing in our 1st team, then 1 million is too much to turn down.
If a player is in the final year of his contract and we offer £10K a week but another club offers £20K a week then we can’t compete.

Regards Brooks 15 million might seem a lot of money but the prize in the PL is 150 million per season.
I can gaurantee that whilst we are near the top with a good chance of promotion then Brooks won’t be sold unless it’s something rediculous like £25 million plus, basically he’s not for sale.
