I think there’s only Everton that could tempt him, they are a seriously big club.
But
are they? Bigger than us, sure. But nowhere near Liverpool, Spurs, the two Mancs. Everton are 'sleeping giants' writ large. They last won the top-level championship in 1986-87 and the FA Cup in 1995. That's a
looong time without major honours. Everton will go for a 'proven', foreign-sounding name. And as for this talk about Burnley, they're just another team - like Palace, Watford etc. - who will get reeled in sooner or later. Leicester will do likewise but why any manager would even consider them after the way they treated Ranieri and Shakespeare is a mystery.
And I see 'anybody's wife but my own' Ryan Giggs is interested in both the Everton and Leicester jobs. Dream on. The PL isn't the place to learn your trade.
Re CW, I think his love for the Blades makes it extremely unlikely he'd leave at the moment. He's feeling true love here - unless an instant hit at places like Everton or Leicester he'd get dogs abuse. But get used to this constant interest from teams who've lost their manager - it's the price for success. (I don't think they'll be queuing round the block for Carvalhal's services.) If CW does eventually go, it's how football works. The Spurs fans are enjoying their best times in years, but there's a constant background noise about Kane/Alli/Pochettino leaving.
IF CW does leave, I think a team like Huddersfield would be a good career progression.
However, I noticed on Saturday that the dog-botherers' fans now use those hideous plastic clackers so beloved by plastic fans.
