A couple of his tackles yesterday were top class. His heading was good

His tenacity, desire and commitment under CW has been first class

Deserves all the accolades at the moment and long may that continue

Another confession: Good as he was last season I didn't think he would make the step up. He looks stronger and fitter than when he first came into the side, but it is the step up in technical aspects of his game that has really surprised me.

Thought he was a right donkey when he first arrived, making rubbish tackles piggybacking on opposition players and constantly giving the ball away. Couldn't believe he played CM such was his lack of passing ability, first touch and shooting with his head or either foot.
What an incredible transformation he has had. His pressing, his tackling, his fitness, his desire, his consistency.
Best Blades player 2016 and 17.

I take great pleasure on being the only member of the Basham fan club when he first signed.
:D Smug Blade.
The lad Basham is starting to look a lot like last seasons Coady. A slow, non descript start developing into a fine player.

It seems to me that he is doing a better and better job each week wherever he plays!

I remember when he first signed and after a month I was slagging him off to a mate saying he was a terrible signing. I'm a dickhead
I could forgive you that, but getting smashed when you have work to do just proves that you're correct ;)

A proper duracell bunny type, going full pelt even after 90 mins, and with skill , would love that song to get going

A few things that sum up the kind of man we have in Chris Basham.

I remember his radio interview after we got dicked 4-0 at Gillingham and he had the balls to put it down to a lack of heart. Giddings couldn't believe he said it.

His 2 red cards for us came from a similar situation to the Forest game where he went in full- blooded for a 50\50 challenge.

During Adkins reign 2 players bust a nut for the shirt week in week out - Sharp and Basham. Now can you name a current player who doesn't?

Finally, after the final game of last season we had a drink with his dad, as my sister knows him from working on the railways. I headed off early and when I got home my sister called me and put Chris on the phone for a chat. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. I hear I wasn't the only fan who was given this treat that night. What a guy!

Yeah, Bash is a player I like a lot.

Check out this bloke, after Crewe away, Oct 25, 2014
Basham, for the third game in a row, was a star. Brave as a lion, positionally sound, and comfortable and creative bringing the ball out. So far, anyway, he reminds me a bit of late-era Jags. A bit lost in midfield, but a solid and footballing centre-half. Alcock and Bob got forward strongly, and from our view tackled hard and never looked under threat.
.

Shame he underrated him in midfield, and clearly knew fuck all about Alcock, mind :)

basham /booker top blades same type of player leave it all on the pitch another legend is born.

Whatever else happens in this lad's career with us I don't think he is too far from earning a place at the top table of Blades' greats. I know that is a big statement but with United I [personally] think we look beyond the concept of 'who was the best player' and have a wider perspective, looking at strength of character and resilience. If we see a bit of skill in there as well then bingo!

Bash had his struggles with us at first but stuck to with it and overcame, since then he has consistently stepped up and delivered. I would trust him to perform anywhere across the defensive or midfield line; he is consistently the best tackler we have and he ain't to shabby when he ghosts his way into the opposition's penalty area either. Add to that the occasional moment of magic with his side chops and roulettes and quite honestly I haven't seen a better utility player in 28 years of watching us.

Arise Sir Chris........
Great shout this Stretch about Bash ,, my resiniments to
